2016 Trade Deadline Thread

The idea isn't necessarily to immediately improve the team, but to get something back for a player who we may end up losing in the offseason, with no compensation in return, either from us cutting the guy, or from free agency.

Agree, I don't think we have anyone that falls in this category though. I expect Jackson to leave via FA and most likely Garcon too, but hope we can keep him for a reasonable price. If they both leave for big $ elsewhere we will get comp pics at least the following year, assuming the skins are not big players in FA.

How does Belichick do it?

He trades starting caliber players at the beginning of a season and still ends up going 12-4 and being a title contender.

I remember similar deals in the past for Richard Seymour, Logan Mankins, etc.

Meanwhile, we are SIGNING players off the street in October we HOPE can come in and start for us!

Belichick is a helluva coach, but Tom Brady covers multitude of sins.

The Pats have also brought in other guys who managed to up their game for the 'cause'.

Similar our washed up antique Davis getting a do over.

Ok, I'll start.
If the Browns' Kessler stinks it up, would they be desperate enough to trade for their own former QB, Colt McCoy, now that he's new and improved ?

How can that be? Either something is new, or it's an improvement on something that is old. Can't be both!
