I think he's made some stupid decisions. At worst, he raped and stole from a grocery store. If that's true, then he should go to jail.

At best, he didn't rape anyone, and was told by the grocery store manager that he was allowed to come into the store and grab a few items every so often.

If that's the case, then it's not nearly as bad as it's being reported.

And as far as having a long career in the NFL goes, how many people know that Cam Newton was kicked out of UF for stealing laptops? He seems to be doing pretty well, and like Sean, he cleaned his act up.

That's the thing.....much like Wilbon did with Sean, people have jumped to conclusions without knowing anything.

I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that less than 1% of the population even knows how many men the accused victim slept with the night in question.

Nor do they know that she admitted to an ongoing sexual relationship with Jameis, or that he's the only person out of multiple guys that she's pressing charges against.

Dumb? Not by a mile. He was accepted into Stanford. I couldn't get into Stanford. He also has a 3.75 GPA at Florida State.

Gotta side with goal here... there are varying levels of dumb... being able to pass tests and maintain a GPA doesn't mean someone's got an effective level of street smarts. What he did was either because he didn't realize it would be a problem, didn't CARE it would be a problem, or honestly thought despite it being a problem, figured he wouldn't get in trouble. you're mistaken if you think a bunch of 19 year olds who are college athletes are driving around doing those things, let alone the regular 19 year old. You're minimizing criminal activity. Winston, like other high profile people, need to hold themselves to a different standard anyways. Double standard? Sure... but it's reality. He's not a 'normal' 19 year old kid. He's a Heisman trophy winning QB who also won a national championship. He cannot act this way. It's just plain not acceptable. Even if you remove the 'allegations' he still stood on that table and screamed obscenities, and he still walked out of that convenience store without paying for what he stuck in his pocket. That's disturbing the peace and theft.

Hosting a party is different then driving with an open container, or getting arrested for a DUI... I'm not saying it doesn't happen in the least, but a student athlete with aspirations to become an NFL QB, who's a high profile person, decides he's above the team... then you really have to evaluate what's going on here. I am yet to ever hear a story of any other college player doing all these things. I know it's got a lot to do with who he is and what he's accomplished, but what he's doing is not run of the mill stuff by any means.
