Regarding Zimmer:
Listening to NFL Radio(listen about everyday), Guys like Ross Tucker,Bob Poppa,Scott Pioli,Rich Gannon and others, have all said that one of the reasons that Zimmer hasn't got a HC gig is because he's not PC. That he is brutally honest about players,schemes and structure and that alot of front office types bristle at that type of personality.
That just makes me like him that much more.
IMO, this franchise needs a heavy dose of someone like that: someone who cuts straight through the BS,is no nonsense and wants to get the job done.
Hope Bruce interviews him.

I agree with you here, and the more i hear about Zimmer, the more i like him. He's also worked side by side with Marvin Lewis who's had arguably a top 10 defense in history.

Yeah Mike, while the 'intent' if the Rooney rule is admirable, it definitely has the feel of 'tokenism' about it. There's a demeaning quality inherent in it. I almost think it would be more productive to apply the rule to coordinator positions...which might serve to give more black coaches consideration for jobs where they can demonstrate they are serious head coaching candidates based on performance.

That is what I was hearing. And I agree. But I am not sure how that works in the NFL today. Players these days get butt hurt so easily I am not sure that tough nose approach will work. Look at Schiano in Tampa. He was vilified for his approach and it showed in the team's performance.

If Washington wanted a quick move to satisfy the Rooney Rule they could have simply interviewed Raheem Morris who is on staff already.

You have to start somewhere. When was the last time the Redskins had somebody stand up and say what happens from now on is on me good or bad?
Where you are right now, I was there about a month ago, hell really I have been there since after the Chargers game. The whole last part of the season I was pretty much emotionless watching the games. I had been beat down. When we fired Shanny, it was such a relief, I instantly got hope back again. I think once we get a coach, hopefully that coach has all the qualities that we have all pretty much agreed that he needs, you will once again get hope.

I think majority of redskins fans wanted a true GM-at-the-top structure for a long, long time.
We finally have it.
I can't blame anyone for doubting the right person is in place, but at this point i'll take it and hope Allen's the right guy.
After 3 months of being negative I'm going into the offseason upbeat. I can't handle it otherwise.
