Everything I want to know? I want to know whether the team will be competitive this week. Will they get blown out as they did against Philly, or will they grind a tough one out as they did against Tennessee?

    I don't suppose that's in there though.

I want to know if McNabb will have time to take a 3 step drop without interior defensive linemen in his face.

I want to know if Shanahan will finally realize what many of us realize: that Rabach is a liability and we need to start trying out some of our youth along the O Line to determine what our offseason plan is for finally tending to this part of the team.

Well Montgomery is taking over for Hicks. I wish it was more of the Tennesee game line, with Montgomery taking over for Rabach and Heyer taking over for Hicks. Maybe the substitution will make a small impact.

But, their D-line is fierce, I see many sacks in our immediate future.

im wondering why heyer isnt playing more at guard, he actually didnt look as out of place there as he has at tackle. im also wondering why we arent grabbing UFL guys to compete.

I agree with you about Heyer.

As far as the UFL, I am pretty sure there are fees associated with picking up those players. I think it is in the 100,000 dollar range. So if you sign a UFL guy, you better make sure you want him.

    No.

The Meadowlands have not been kind to us lately. I know it's a new stadium, but man alive we suck up there.

I didn't have the chance to catch the game myself but from all I've heard about it, I wonder as well.

What do we have to lose by starting Heyer at Guard? Are we concerned because he is the only backup RT behind Jamaal Brown? Didn't we elevate Selvish Capers from the practice squad a week or two ago?

No -but I picked us to win in the NFL Pickem, just because these Redskins never perform as expected, and I'm on a roll...

O.K., El, I'm going to go out on a limb and say I wouldn't be too surprised at all.

A couple of reasons-the Gints have been turnover prone in their last few games, plus Eli's erratic. The main reason however is related to Boone's comment-the Redskins have just been plain unpredictable enough that eliminating a possible win seems too much of risk-forgone conclusions don't seem to be working out too well this season anyway and the Skins are habitually not doing what's been expected of them.

I'm giving it a 2-4 year window. Looking for improvement in all areas. Redskins, you're on the clock.

on a total tangent.....so let us suppose the team only wins one more game and ends up with a high 1st round pick.....do we go for a franchise QB? I bet this is one issue that factored into how Donovan's contract was structured.

cmon now...you know the season is over. too many injuries too many talent gaps.

We have to draft the QB of the future in these next 2 drafts IMHO. It comes down to who do the Shanahans really have their eye on, and how much will it cost to get him.

The downside of having competent coaching and *some* talent is that we will not be terrible. Our chances of getting a top QB in the draft will more likely hinge on giving up picks to move up. And even that is not always achievable (it looks like we tried hard to do that last draft and were rebuffed).

I also think the performance of McNabb over the final 5 games may drive how urgently we pursue his successor.

That and the state of the offensive line. You don't want to get a rookie QB killed behind a poor O-line, you could ruin a potentially good one. I wouldn't be opposed to getting a good QB prospect and letting him sit for a year allowing him time to learn from McNabb and get up to speed while simultaneously allowing the team another year to shore up the O-line.

I've really been hoping all along that this was the plan - McNabb being a stable place-holder while we found our next great QB in the draft. I hope that is the plan. Because the idea that we brought him in to make us a winner is just not tenable. We don't have the horses to be anything more than occasionally competitive.

McNabb as an interim stop-gap makes sense, especially since he came pretty cheap.

Our next great QB? Do we have a great QB now? When's the last time we had a great QB?

I can see McNabb as a stopgap, but I don't agree he came cheap. If we are giving up high draft picks, we ought to be giving them up for players that will help us win games now and in the long term, imo.
