    Only thing I can really give him credit for is somehow parlaying a mediocre career (with one electric season) into one of a talking head that some people actually pay attention to. But he does 'him' well.

    When did the rookie salary cap come in? Wasn't RGIII the inaugural year? I would suspect that has an effect too. Before then you had a lot of money tied up with those early QBs, so you were incentivized to keep playing them.

    Yeah, I'm not sure that telegraphs anything either. There are only so many vets out there and you want one you fill comfortable with and can produce, not just one that fits a style so they can mentor a rookie in that style.

    McManus was 77.8% in his last year with Denver. With a smaller sample size, if Slye had made one more FG, he would have been at 83.33%. McManus has had the opportunity to attempt more FGs per year, so his percentages are a little more solid and he has a much better record on XPs. I don't hate...

    McManus is about the only one I have a slight head scratcher on. Maybe it's just me looking at all the young kickers Washington has let go over the years that have had good careers elsewhere. XPs were a question mark though.
