    Whatever Happened to...

This is a great post - a good description of what happened with a lot of people. I remember one Monday morning I got the newspaper and scanned through it. And in it was the Sports section, showing the result of the Redskins game. The Redskins game? I had forgotten to watch it. I couldn't...

Meanwhile, six months later... MTH responds... I think it's because the file is too large in bytes.

    Finally! The Lunch Thread!

A really cool place to have lunch or brunch is the rooftop of Hotel Washington. It's literally right across the street from the White House. It's an open rooftop, and so you're actually looking down onto the east wing. Back in the day (mid-late 80s), my gf / wife and I would ride our bikes...

    What's for Dinner?

Hahahha - Spam is apparently a big deal in Hawaii. They love it. My best friend in junior high school, the guy whose Dad had season tix at RFK in '71 and '72 when the games were blacked out, we would eat lunch at his house after working outside in the hot summer sun, and our big lunch was Spam...

    The Dessert Thread

The cherry pie my wife made a couple days ago was off the chart. I even said it out loud. I said, "Seriously, I think this may be the best cherry pie I've ever had." I said that to her. And that says a lot because my Mom and my wife and my daughter make a damn good cherry pie. But my...

    What's for Dinner?

Last night's supper - "Colossal Crab Cakes" from HT. They were about 3/8 pound each. Very nice. Probably not quite as nice as Cameron Jumbo or SF1311 homemade. Served with homemade coleslaw with crushed pineapple in it. Homemade farm-picked cherry pie for dessert.

I see Hogan's Heroes on MeTV quite often ;) The nice thing about MeTV is it's not so loaded with commericials - you can watch the show in peace, and the commercials come at the beginning or the end. https://www.metv.com/schedule? I just found your crab place...

    Finally! The Lunch Thread!

We had corn cob Sat night, our cole slaw is homemade with pineapple in it, that's what makes it GOOD. It's even better if it sits a day or two. The crab cakes are store made by HT. That's the trade off. They were free though. :p

    Finally! The Lunch Thread!

Haha That is hilarious! You know why? Because I'm doing crab cakes for supper tonight! And that's exactly how I fry them! I swear there is some kind of cosmic thing goin' on between us.

Father's Day thing DLSF wrote for me: The thing about dads is they’re not all same At least my dad's different than most Some sit around all day watching the game My dad sits around watching his roast. But it’s worth it because he’s the best chef in town Just try his pork butt and...

Rock Hill Farms? Never heard of that one. Might have to check it out some day. Larriland is getting awfully crowded on the weekends.

    What's for Dinner?

Couple Mondays ago, HT sent out emails for live Maine lobsters for Father's Day. $12.99. Yeah, okay. $12.99 is as good as it gets around here. I signed up for four. Pick up Friday before Father's Day. Daughter is not going to make it - grandson has the sniffles. Shoot. That means wife...

Flag Day. The flag on the nearest pole is a town flag - it's an 1812 flag which shows fifteen stars and fifteen stripes. The stripe below the blue field is red, rather than white. Same with the one way down at the bottom of the hill. That little flag is from Boarman's Market in Highland. A...
