  1. Random Commanders Thoughts

I'm far less concerned about negative press coverage and more concerned about how the team functions and performs on the field.
  2. Adam Schefter ESPN.com : Redskins to start McCoy over RG III

Bingo. The unfortunate part is that we have a team owned by someone who has demonstrated repeatedly that he either lacks the skills or is too stupid to undertand the basics of management of a franchise. When you have no limits to how much you can spend on scouts, general managers, front office...
  3. Adam Schefter ESPN.com : Redskins to start McCoy over RG III

Boone, There are bigger problems that extend higher up than the coach. We have no talent evaluators in the front office. None. Zilch. Until that happens (and we haven't had any credible front office since 1999), forget about addressing the holes in this team.
  4. Adam Schefter ESPN.com : Redskins to start McCoy over RG III

The real shame is that we don't have an ownerwho feels the same way. I've reached the point where (for the first time in 10 years) I don't watch the games anymore since I'm convinced things won't change as long as Snyder's inept and caustic leadership is still in place. Any precedent for...
  5. SOW: Gruden: David Amerson Can Be One Of The Best Corners In The League

The rookie DB Breeland looks like he's pretty good, too. At least, based on scant reports from minicamps.
  6. Knee Surgery For Hatcher

So, what's the latest on the Hatcher knee situation? Was it just a scope? Is he OK?
  7. Skins Sign FB Stephen Campbell

Hope he is a special teams signing. At this point, want to stock the cupboard with tons of ST talent. As much as possible.
  8. Random Commanders Thoughts

Yeah ... stick a fork in him. He's done.
  9. Random Commanders Thoughts

I love how long the debate of Armstrong vs. Moss has taken in this thread. I would argue we may (may) have a competitor with the guy we took in the draft whose name I'm forgetting. AND all three of them will rarely see the field. So ultimately, who cares?
  10. 2014 Redskins UDFAs

So, when do these guys get to "try out"?
  11. not impressed with the start of this "new regime"

So...we agree, then? I said we needed one, maybe two picks spent on OL. I'm thinking RT and G. The rest should be D. I don't care what position - just BPA. In other words, no WR, TE, RB. We'll have to go with what we have for now on the roster.
  12. not impressed with the start of this "new regime"

We need to spend only one pick or two on OL - the rest on D. If Seattle and SF have shown us anything, its that an elite D still wins championships. We have enough horses on the O now but still need to protect the QB, otherwise, I'd say lets take only D (DL, LB, S, CB - BPO at all positions).
  13. Random Commanders Thoughts

Cool. Do you know which ones?
  14. Will Griffin succeed as a Pocket passer?

The only problem I have with the Culpepper comparison is that I always felt that it was the departure of R. Moss, and not the knee so much, that effected him. He never really proved to be anything without him in the lineup. Just my 2 cents.
  15. Will Griffin succeed as a Pocket passer?

I'm not trying to be combative with you. In fact, I'm hoping you are correct. I just have lost confidence based on the poor decisions and inaccuracy I've seen from him this year. Perhaps last year was a function of RG3 catching the league on its heels with a gimmicky read-option look that had...
  16. Will Griffin succeed as a Pocket passer?

You know who also isn't stupid? Ryan Fitzpatrick. He doesn't read defenses well. He has no pocket presence. He hasn't learned any of these. RG3 gets a pass because he is so athletic, that he can get out of difficult situations with his legs. That isn't a viable long-term strategy. I fear that...
  17. Random Commanders Thoughts

Strange how this seems to play out every couple of years with this team ... without fail. I wonder why? What is the common thread? Why do both coaches and players seem to "just want the money" and leave on horrible terms?
  18. Random Commanders Thoughts

Why not? He hasn't shown he can be an elite NFL QB.
  19. Will Griffin succeed as a Pocket passer?

Honest question(s): Do you think hard work can overcome poor pocket presence? How about his inability to read defenses and get rid of the ball quickly and accurately in the face of a double-A gap blitz? If he can't improve those things, he will never be an elite NFL QB. Right now he looks...
