    The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

I'm so mad that one of Tate/Tyson/Bailey is gonna end up a New York Giant AFTER they get a haul to trade down like 2 spots.:mad::mad: We need Nabers to like, punch a ref or something so he gets released and can come here sooner.

This is part of why I hope we end up picking 6 or higher. If Mendoza/Moore go 1/2, and we somehow, say, end up 5th, guaranteed to have one of those 3 there. Seen some mocks where it's like Mendoza -> Moore -> Tate -> Tyson -> Bailey and we're 6th or 7th and I'm like "great, guess I'll just go...

I feel fairly justified keeping Bailey in my top 3 wishlistt (with Tyson/Tate). I'm salivating thinking about a pass rush with Bailey/Newton/Luvu. Bailey out at 5 tech, or even a little wider, almost 7 tech, forcing the tackle to swing wide to stop him, Newton at 3 tech eating the guard alive...

They just mentioned that teams with byes are 0-5, which raises the question, how much of this is "systemic" in that teams just need to keep playing to win and when they stop they get "cold."

There are worse ideas than Bain in the 1st and Mesidor in the 3rd if teams get scared of Mesidor's age.

Ah gotcha. But Tate is definitely better than everyone but Terry, though that isn't saying much. His QB isn't doing him many favors tonight, but Bain/Mesidor are having a real good night too, Ohio only having 14 points is a testament to how good the Miami defense is.

Well...yeah. His teammate is probably the first non-QB off the board next year.

Well we can't draft Jeremiah Smith now, no way he gets away with that little push off if we draft him, that's a flag 178% of the time if a Commander does that, I checked, it's in the rules, scribbled in pen (in what appears to be John Mara's handwriting).

Downs is worth a top 10 pick I think, I just wish our cupboard wasn't so damn bare and empty all over the place, so we could afford to take him without leaving holes elsewhere.

Bain is growing on me. Almost stripped the ball out from Sayin and has been pressuring him a ton. Always hard to tell if pressures is a real stat or not. A pressure is a sack that got blue-balled. But watching Bain, so far tonight, the pressures have been VERY real. Let's get two horses tied...

    The BBQ Thread

Our deck is very small so wife got me a Ninja Woodfire for Christmas. First thing on it was Pork Loin since it was sell by of today. I have not done any real grilling/smoking/anything before, but this came out pretty well. Big thing to change I think is I gotta wrap it up to rest, I just let...

I don't really see Philly resting starters as anything other than a business decision. The Eagles have little to play for. They're locked into the division and can't win the 1 seed. I guess they are competing for 2nd seed, but they're guaranteed either 2nd or 3rd seed, so if you're weighing...

    The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

Yeah, the other side of this is I'm really high on Tate, Tyson, and Bailey. I'd love to pair Tate with Terry as a mentor for a year before Terry, who will be 32 in 2027, inevitably starts to decline a bit. Tyson is a lock to be a WR1 but for injury concerns. And Bailey just is the...

    The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

You can get a good safety for 8-12M/year. You can get a very good safety for 12-15M/year. Anything above that is reserved for pro-bowlers/all-pros. There are 10 safeties with AAV above 15M. Same with linebacker. Only 4 guys making more than 15M AAV there. RB only has 2 guys above 15M...

Okay, hear me out, we sign T.Diggs BUT we move him to safety.

Well, as I'm sure you're well aware, there's this guy in the draft who has a 100th percentile contested catch rate. From a pretty good school too I hear :P

The cynical voice in my head says we're gonna sign Aiyuk and then both he and Terry will get injured.

    The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

The thing that's keeping me away from Love in all permutations of the draft is what happened in the middle of the season this year when we couldn't run for crap because defenses just stacked up 8 man boxes every week. Terry (and Noah) being out meant our O had no one to stretch the field/beat...

I feel like the number I'd be willing to keep a 30 year old Deebo at is a number lower than Deebo would like. Also, if I had my way (I won't) I'd be drafting Tate or Tyson in round 1 to be our future #1, I'd be signing Doubs or Pierce to be a long term #2, I'd be signing Pitts (or someone else...
