    Pat White to sign

It was reported on ESPN and I’ve read several reports that former Dolphin’s wildcat formation QB (and former WVU standout) Pat White is set to sign with the Redskins later this week, possibly as soon as today. The ESPN guys were making a lot more out of the signing than I see in it. They were...

    Carriker Set Back In Rehab

For years in NBA circles you have been hearing about how good the training/medical staff the Phoenix Suns are. They have helped to extend the careers of Grant Hill, Steve Nash and Shaq when he was still in the league. I’ve never done any deep research into the specifics but I did find a story...

Sure, it's still a fun exercise. In a big sample like this my personal experience doesn't count for squat.

NFL Fans by County, According to Facebook

It's hardly scientific but when I was a kid in Carolina it was hard to NOT find a kid who was a Skins fan. There was that one weird kid who was a Seahawk fan for no good reason, a couple of Cowboy fans and that's about it. I had some family in Western Carolina who followed the Falcons but that...

    Looking forward to free agency

Ok, I know the Super Bowl is still to be played but I honestly don’t care about the game. Regardless of who wins Ray will dance, the Harbaugh parents will cry and I'll die a little bit inside. I'm determined to talk about what really matters....our Washington Redskins. It’s time to make a wish...

    Winning cures all ills

Very true brother Henry. My basement is when I watch sports. I have the big screen with surround sound down there and I can watch relatively uninterrupted. I despise the announcers on the games so what I started doing last year was pause the game with the DVR and sync it with the radio...

A piece from this site on PCL injuries (for what it's worth) http://www.soccermaniak.com/lcl-rehab.html Grade III LCL treatment When a Grade III LCL ligament injury happens, more severe sprain or impact is absorbed by the outside of the knee causing the ligament to completely tear. When...

Sea Change: Where we are now vs. where they though we'd be...

I’ll admit that I look at the world through burgundy and gold colored glasses most of the time and at the beginning of the season I thought that 8-8 would be a realistic (read optimistic) goal for the season. Secretly I hoped for 9-7 and a shot to sneak into the playoffs but I didn’t even want...

    Kirk Cousins

I guess it’s easy to say that I liked the Cousins pick now (I did at the time too…honest). Shanahan had worked with him in the Senior Bowl and thought enough of him to draft him as insurance. It just seemed to make sense given our only other option was Rex. It also makes sense given the fact...

Oh what a difference a decent safety makes...

I noticed that too and mentioned it to a couple of people during the game. I want to temper my enthusiasm of course but there was a definite change in the attitude and play of the secondary. More than any other position in football the secondary seems to be reliant on confidence. Maybe I'm...

    14-27 Shouldn't Breed Arrogance

I was willing to give Mike Shanahan a lot of leeway when he took the job here. Hall of Fame QB or not he was able to win two Super Bowls in Denver and that counts for quite a bit in my book. It was widely reported that when he took the job he told Dan not to hire him if he wasn’t going to be...

Two terrible, horrible, very bad, no good calls that changed the game.

It does not matter. In fact a rain soaked field can favor a receiver who knows where he's making the cut vs a corner that doesn't. I want us to run the ball when the situation and the defense dictates we should, otherwise we should throw the ball. The Steelers weren't having any problems...

Two terrible, horrible, very bad, no good calls that changed the game.

I see you point but I honestly don't care how they move the ball down field. I don't think it's asking too much for guys who call themselves professional wide receivers to catch footballs that hit them in the hands. The run wasn't exactly working for us in the first half anyway (except for the...

Two terrible, horrible, very bad, no good calls that changed the game.

I agree with a lot of what’s been said in this thread. As dynamic as Griffin is running the ball it’s clear to me that he can be the most deadly when he stays in the pocket and runs as a second option. Our running game is solid and his play action fakes are fantastic. LBs have to respect that...
