Northwest Stadium has a jail? I did not know that. Do most NFL stadiums?

What Would You Like For The New Name Of This Team?

49ers is a great area-specific name harkening back to the California gold rush of 1849. I love team names that have a direct relationship to the area in which the team is located.

What Would You Like For The New Name Of This Team?

Wolverines are definitely an animal worthy of football mascothood, but they don't live in the DMV. How about "Copperheads"? They're local, and they're deadly.

What Would You Like For The New Name Of This Team?

We could pull page out of Buffalo's book and be The Washington Georges.

What Would You Like For The New Name Of This Team?

Remember when Chris Berman would refer to the "New York Football Giants" as a way of paying homage to the time when there was a baseball team with the same name in New York (before they moved to San Francisco)?

What Would You Like For The New Name Of This Team?

Braves wouldn't be awful. But let's not do "The Chop". There are already three sports teams using it. And we could use this logo again: https://content.sportslogos.net/logos/7/168/full/1064.gif

What Would You Like For The New Name Of This Team?

I suppose, but it would stand alone among NFL mascots as the only freshwater fish mascot. ;)

What Would You Like For The New Name Of This Team?

Reposting this from another thread as it pertains to this discussion: I'm not necessarily married to the Native American theme. I really like when a team mascot/logo/name is directly related to something unique to the city/region in which it is located. Some good examples of this type of...

Both peanuts and potatoes have redskin varieties. Peanuts are a major agricultural export of Virginia.

What Would You Like For The New Name Of This Team?

I suggested "Redfins" half jokingly. Here's that post: There is a fish the range of which includes Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. It's full name is the Redfin Pickerel. It could be shortened to "Redfins". We could still use "HTTR" if the team adopted this creature as its mascot.

What Would You Like For The New Name Of This Team?

I do like Sentinels. It has a military feel which works well with The Pentagon being located in D.C.

What Would You Like For The New Name Of This Team?

How about "Representatives"? It shortens nicely to "Reps" and fits well with D.C. as the center of government.

    Super Bowl or Branding/Name Change?

I'm not necessarily married to the Native American theme. I really like when a team mascot/logo/name is directly related to something unique to the city/region in which it is located. Some good examples of this type of branding are: -Lakers-When the team was located in Minnesota, this was a...
