    Stop feeding it. You should be getting figs almost immediately from my experience. Fertilizer makes the plant grow lots of branches and leaves, instead of using that energy to produce fruit. I would bet if you never fertilize again, you will have so many figs you won't know what to do with them...

    All spiders are 'beneficial' if by that you mean they eat nuisance insects like flies, gnats, etc... There are a couple in North America that can hurt you if they bite you (black widow, brown recluse primarily). But that's the only negative I know of. To your question, depends on my mood.
