I would search up in person autos on Terapeak (seller search tool) on eBay for recent comps - Sean’s autos could be an exception but in general non authenticated in person autos reduce the value at worst or leave it flat at best. I’d get them authenticated and that could dramatically improve...
Honestly in person, non-certified autos are not worth very much unless they have been authenticated by PSA/JSA etc.
Same thing for cards and everything else - without a certification, it's just not worth much.
Redwolf, do you have an Excel or similar listing of what you have? There are definitely people that buy lots like this noting that you’re looking at like 55-60 cents on the dollar to eBay comps for what you have. That will definitely be higher for the better (meaning more easily to value and...
Totally my fault - I was referring to the NY Rangers hockey team; cede the point completely when it comes to the super historical Texas Rangers (and given that I listed other baseball teams, your counterpoint is well made and spot on).
And Angels is another bad example. I stand by Pirates. :)...
I think we'll all care about all of this much less if the team continues winning.
Few core things on why the name change matters (and I'm sure there are others):
- changing the name cuts to the core (for some) of the identity of the thing that many of have spent a lifetime rooting for [I...
I was saying it's lip service because that's what businesses - particularly large businesses - generally provide to their stakeholder base in lieu of genuine concern.
This is much less that ownership did or didn't do the right thing; it's more that we shouldn't expect them to act in anything...
I hear all that Boone
The lip service that's paid by ownership to caring about the fans is exactly that - as a quick press release to tip their hat in saying they "care" is also effectively "free" as it can easily be generated by the PR team and will potentially be enough to assuage most fans...
This will come across as harsh but any factor beyond "bottom dollar" will not matter to ownership as there's no reason for it to.
How long you've been a fan, how much money you've spent, how much you know about the team, how dedicated you are, how much you've suffered - they couldn't care less...
Is that Steve? Man - haven't been in touch with him in ages...hope he's doing great.
This thread reminds me of a great subreddit I'm subscribed to: https://www.reddit.com/r/BuyItForLife/ - almost like a very chaotic (good) Consumer Reports.
so Skinsfan1311, I hear you in part - my wife and I didn't find it nearly as cringe as you did (for the most part). My wife grew up in Texas and so we've had exposure to people like this in some shape/form and it didn't feel that inauthentic tbh. Either way, different people can obviously enjoy...
Landman is awesome. Billy Bob Thorton is great in it and the script writing is excellent.
And a second vote of recommendation from me for Severance. Really, really good.
