2024 Free Agents - who are we keeping?

Kind of about perception when it comes to Ekeler. If we had brought him in as RB1 and paid him RB1 money, I'd definitely be taken aback by it. But as RB2, on a friendly contract, and as an on and off-field veteran presence with clear potential to be an asset to a young QB in a new offense for...

2024 Free Agents - who are we keeping?

Ekeler is a damn solid option as a change-up RB1, and multi-use RB2. And I suspect he'll see a lot of screens and get deployed all over the place. But he's not Pacheco-mold electric guy(s) I think we'll likely still add.

    The Free Agency Thread

Absolutely. As I said, it think it's part of their calculus. The other part(s) are their own assessments of each player's skill, potential, age, cost, etc., and how each would fit into the schemes they are planning to run.

    The Free Agency Thread

I think part of the reason we have let so many of our FA's walk is about wanting to completely flip the script here. New culture, new identity, new everything. We could make the case for re-signing/retaining any number of guys on potential merit ... Samuels, Curl, Fuller, Howell ... but it's...

2024 Free Agents - who are we keeping?

Been considering that as well. So much still depends on what kind of QB and scheme we're looking to run. The specific body types and skill sets we'll be looking to add are TBD still, but as of March 15 and NOT knowing what kind of QB/scheme we'll be running ... beyond still needing starting LT...

BGO Blind Pig: Washington's Free Agency Frenzy

And for the record, because my comment to Brother Neo may have been a bit obscure without context ... recognizing that I'm the one who posted the dubious historical success record of QB's taken with the #2 overall pick, and now seemingly teasing him for having taken it to heart, I went for a...

BGO Blind Pig: Washington's Free Agency Frenzy

That was essentially my take, at least insofar as Mariota vs Howell. Thinking it makes sense to let them battle it out for either QB2 or bridge/temporary QB1 until the rook is ready.

    QB or not QB

My hope is our FO loves Daniels and/or Maye enough to take the shot grab them at #2. Based on nothing more than a feeling (hey, that should be a song title), is they decide their best option is trading down just far enough to get both an elite LT prospect and ... J.J. McCarthy. Wanted to get...

    QB or not QB

Josh is smokescreening you both. At dinner last night he said they’re taking J.J. McCarthy at #6 after fleecing the Giants.

Every Fanbase Needs a Jason Kelce

It was heartfelt, no doubt. I do gotta say, I couldn't help thinking that the irony of his ... damply emotional ... hail and farewell is that half the Philly population was probably thinking , "Jeebus. Suck it up mother****** ain't no crying in football."

    The QB Carousel

I've been saying Russell Wilson lost the magic about three-four years back. What made him special was his uncanny ability to move/slide in the pocket, extend plays, and throw effectively on the run. He lost a step about three years ago, and some of his quicks, and as a result became just a guy...

    2024 Roster Updates

Bringing in a 34-year-old Ertz on a one-year deal, particularly with his connection to Kingsbury, sounds to me like it's more experience in the TE room than wheels on the field. Sure, he'll provide some stability and veteran savvy on the field (one hopes), but I think he's being brought in...

Outstanding work, BG. Thanks for sharing. Making interview into conversation is an art. Must note that Mark was a generous subject. No apparent ego, very personable, delightful.
