Considering my attention span level, I feel like I deserve a pardon, too
 
Went to see Pressure last night... actually opens today. Thought it was fairly well done, and portrayed the "players" involved, and situation very well . Of course, if you're not into history, you likely wouldn't be thrilled with it. I'd label it a very good docudrama.

Recent thoughts in my head, led me to watching this Docu-drama released 10 years ago. Just finished tonight.

A good afternoon movie is The Hot Rock with Robert Redford and George Segal.

It's from 1972 so an oldie but goodie about a gang of theives trying to heist a large diamond multiple times throughout the movie in a comical way.

Haven't saw it since it came out. I did notice it streaming now, guess I should watch it again...
 
The Mrs and I watched Obsession (horror/suspense) it's great for what it is, its a low budget film so more suspense than blood albeit there is plenty of that, we enjoyed it. Also watched The Drama, loved it, the acting is great and the pacing as well, its a definite recommend.
 
Masters of the universe, definitely does not take itself too seriously which helps because the premise is silly to begin with. I was not a fan as a kid, had no toys was more focused on other cartoon, commercial marketing for toys lol. It was fun, stupid fun, but fun. It ran 10 minutes long imo but the action,laughs and its overall again motif of "we know this is silly" worked well. Its definitely worth a rental if ylu have even a minor ounce of nostalgia for it like I do.
 
Wife and I went on a cinema binge this past week..
We watched The Sheep Detectives over the weekend. Gentle bit of fun, I enjoyed it a lot. :D
We also saw The Mandalorian and Grogu. Which I enjoyed. Felt very old school Star Wars.
And we saw Mortal Kombat 2. Which didn't take itself too seriously and did exactly what it said on the tin. :D
 
MK2 I enjoyed Knight, it did what it needed to do and of course "Motha F'n JC" lol

We went to see this and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a lot funnier than I thought it would be. It’s just the right balance of serious fantasy with tongue firmly in cheek regarding some of the absurdity of the IP, especially the character ‘names’. 😂
 
Watched a bizarre one last night. Black Moon from 1975. Saw it listed and figured why not... I had the urge to find something else to watch early on, yet couldn't turn away from it which I can't figure out. Here's what Wiki says " Franco-German experimental fantasy horror film" because I sure don't know what to call it. If you're up for something that makes no sense what so ever, give it a shot :ROFLMAO:
 
I watched ‘The Boys From Brazil’ (1978) on a whim. Former Nazis decide to clone Adolph Hitler x 93 … madcap shenanigans ensue. Pretty good flick with Gregory Peck and Laurence Olivier if you can imagine that…
 
Been watchin re-runs of Get Smart, and laughin our arses off.
When it was shown on TV originally, between the super dry humor, and the fact I was such a young kid at the time, I couldn't appreciate the humor at all, and as a boy I actually thought it was a serious, police drama show.

Now, it reminds me a lot, of Police Squad episodes with Leslie Nielsen. But not quite as corny. I liked Police Squads & Naked Guns, but Get Smart seemed more creative, IMO.
And I never saw Get Smart, the movie. I just assumed most movie re-remakes of old TV shows were disappointing.
Or was that any good ?
 
Went to see 'Disclosure Day', new Spielberg flick, last night. Basically the plot is that an employee of some secret government group absconds with a bunch of hard drives proving the existence of alien visitations and presence on Earth. He plans on making it all public and the government is after him to silence him. It's part action flick, part sci-fi. Emily Blunt is very good in it, Colin Firth as well. Wyatt Russell (Kurt Russell's son) looks exactly like his dad. It's not getting great reviews, probably because being a Spielberg flick everyone expects Jaws or Schindler's List but I thought it was very well done. I miss a lot of the dialogue when I go to a theater because of the volume level and my hearing loss so I look forward to watching it again at home. Worth seeing and it's probably going to win some Academy Awards for visual effects and cinematography.
 
Boone, how is the pacing? When I see run times over two hours, I always wonder if there's some fluff or dead spots as newer movies seem to try to run longer than needed.
 
It didn’t feel long. It is more action movie than sci-fi. There are numerous chase scenes so I think that keeps it moving…
