So, I hear you and almost everyone else about the choice not to go for it on fourth, but other than that they did so much better than I thought they would. And honestly, if not for the refs gifting the Eagles over and over again with second chances on phantom calls and ignoring Eagles fouls... we had a real chance to win that game.

We’re supposed to be a competitive professional organization, not a charity case that tries its best. You’re talking about our team like they’re the kid who had to wear a helmet for too long that finally learned to tie their shoelaces, well mostly but Velcro is pretty good too considering the situation, what an effort!

That’s a problem.

Well, and a scheme that is flexible to not go dead in the water. Theirs is a run oriented scheme with a strong OL, so going down some receivers does not hurt so badly.

Sure. Except I'm also a realist.

This is a team that's down its two starting corners. Down its 2 starting defensive ends. Down its 3rd down running back. Down it starting quarterback. Down its starting left tackle. Etc. Etc. Etc.

We saw what happen to the Chiefs with fewer injuries this year. A professional, competitive organization just can't survive that... AND the refs. If the refs hadn't been going out of their way to screw us like they placed their mortgages on the Eagles when they placed their bet on the game, it was an even game.

I know, I try to keep the Kliff Posting (TM) to a few per week because it’s very unpopular. I pick my spots with the playcalling stuff lol

You’re not even wrong, it’s just the sort of moral victory (even worse than the usual ones, because it only applied for 2.75 quarters by your own admission) people hate
 
Oh, and I hate it too.

Mind you, for me, this was a Ben Kenobi game.

If you strike me down Darth I get the better draft pick. If I win... I'm good with that, too. So, I'm frustrated that we could have won and didn't, but I'm not that upset. Frankly, I'm more upset about being reffed than the 4th quarter collapse.

I hated both of those losers.

Our roster and coaching staff are at NYJ, Cleveland, and Raiders level. We're a joke.

That doesn't get solved with one or two draft picks, and we'll never catch up to the top teams without extreme changes.

And like those "teams" mentioned above, we also need 8 to 10 starters to ever get where Philly is.

Everything needs to be on the table.

I don’t disagree with you. We were in the game until Mariota went down, even with the refs screwing us, and despite very bad luck on the injury front.

But I’m just so tired of the losing and the excuses.

You can't be 60 mins away from the Superbowl last year and chanting "Let Quinn and Peters cook" and then after one injury riddled season say "Fire everybody." That's Snyder-ish.

Changing head coaches and gms every year or every other year got this club exactly where the last 30 years?
 
It was a miraculous season, but that team was 500 miles away from the SB last year.

Philly had 6 or 7 rushing TDs in that game? That's not a quick fix. That's a heavyweight fighting a lightweight.

And just like there was no benefit to holding onto RR, when you have the wrong people, you need to move on quickly.

With each week of this season, last season looks more and more like an anomaly and less and less like an omen.

I do agree we should give Peters, DQ, and Jayden a chance to turn this team around since they gave us the best season in decades, but I’m no longer optimistic about them being able to do that.

Got nothing to do with us. The Eagles did not look good against a 4 win team with nothing to play for and having to go to a 3rd string QB when the game was still in the balance. Eagles had a win and in game....sorry but they did not look at all like they are going anywhere.

I hope you’re right. I’ll probably be rooting for Tampa Bay and Detroit in the NFC playoffs, but really anybody but Philly would be fine by me. They did look beatable tonight, mostly due to the early turnover and missed kicks. A better team than us would have taken advantage of those opportunities.

That said, they were in control of this game for the most part. They held a big edge in yards, time of possession, and first downs throughout. We made some timely plays and they got some help from the refs, but there was really no question about who was the better team.
