Official Game Thread - Week 9 - Seahawks @ Commanders

DQ just talked about the passing off to each other in zone and imo, that is by far our number one problem. One guy keeps passing a receiver off to the next guy who is not looking, unaware, still focusing on who they had initially. I feel like we should just stay in man for now. Neither Darnold, Goff, or Tua are going to kill you with their legs.

Man Terry is such a difference maker. This sucks. This medical staff have been misdiagnosing our guys all season.. Smh

Why do you keep blaming the medical staff. These are the sorts of injuries that get re-tweaked all the time, across the league. Especially when it comes to older players. A guy can be ready to play and hurt it again. A guy can be diagnosed as out for 3 weeks and then actually miss 5-6. Then come back and immediately make it worse. This is all within the reasonable margin for error with stuff like this.

I’d be happier if we just shut Jayden down this week. I get it, they want to win. I just don’t think it’s worth the risk.

Shut him down for what? If we don't win this game then the season is basically over anyways and you have plenty of time to shut him down after that. If you have any hope of savaging the season then he has to play this game and be great

I'm a little less optimistic for the season. I'd rather let him fully heal instead of trotting him out there hoping he can save a season that isn't likely salvageable while possibly getting injured worse. For reference, I've seen anywhere from 1%-13% chance of making the playoffs.

I fully expect another loss, sad to say

I have more confidence in getting a win with JD5 starting (assuming he is healthy) without Terry McLaurin vs a healthy Terry McLaurin on the field missing JD5. Not that I am overly-confident in either scenario, unless the defense of the first half in the KC game suddenly becomes the defense we can expect for entire games going forward.

Yeah that's my sentiment too.
It feels like a remote chance that we can get any momentum going at this point but I never say never with JD5.
A win would be such a tonic.

Sigh. Man we should have brought Terry back this week with Jayden since we probably weren't going to win in kc anyways. He didn't even have light practices a week before the full practices to ease into it. Now I bet we don't see him until after the bye. Jayden has to be special for us to win these games now.

I think ultimately they will IR him. Just a gut feeling. Given all that has gone down I would strongly consider trading him this offseason and starting over at WR.

I don't think that Terry will be put on IR due to 2 things with our schedule. One is that we play 3 games and then a bye. I bet they feel like Terry can come back at least after the bye to play against Denver on snf. 8f he goes on IR then he has to miss that game. Also if he heals faster, he can at least practice before then. On IR you can't practice with the team.

The 2nd part about the schedule is just what I said a couple of posts above about sitting Jayden. Our season is now and we have a brutal schedule. We have to win some of these games now, so I think they will just keep him and hope because if we lose tax couple of more games then you can just sit Terry the rest of the season anyways

Yeah unfortunately it looks like a toothpaste getting back in the tube at this point. It was about as close to worst case scenario based on how things transpired with what the argument was vs what happened. I will say that we’re not cash strapped with his contract and the real money doesn’t kick in til next offseason but it would be a massive revelation to allow him to be on the roster at the number he’s currently projected to get in 27

As for the game, Seattle has an elite defense and they are fully healthy coming off of the bye. Studying this game I feel like it will come down to our offensive line. Seattle blitzes the least amount in the league. They only rush 4 but still are 5th in the league in sacks. Basically they are similar to Philly last year. They have a dominant pass rush while being able to drop 7 so you have no where to throw.

The line needs to get the running game going but more importantly, we can not allow them to get dominant pressure with only the front 4. If they just want to rush 4 then our line has to give 5 some time to dissect the defense. If they do then I think that 5 can be special. He looks like the brace is off, I know that he feels the urgency, it sucks to lose Terry but the backups have played half a season now so they should be experienced.

The number one thing that our fans have to do is remember the first half last week. KC may be the best team in the league right now with the best home field and we honestly should have had like a 20-7 lead at halftime. We are not that far off. The first half were the coaches best half of the season. Do that again with Jayden and this time finishing the drives and we will win this game. Don't forget how we looked people

OK. I said it when the schedule came out...this season's schedule was gonna be brutal. Not just in terms of which teams, but the order.
The early game we should've definitely won was here, but we were without JD5 and Terry.
Minny may be a serious struggle.
We've got monumental issues on both sides of the ball. They need to get both solved or we're gonna look like a bunch of idiots from ownership down *considering last season*.

The schedule was going to be a bear even without the never-ending rash of injuries. With them? A grizzly.

I respect Mariota for not sucking last season, but if Jayden has to sit out again for a while, I'd rather the team find a sprained pinky on Mariota that finishes him for the season and let Hartman have some make a wish games.
