They dont have the cap room to absorb that contract.
Getting 2 first rounders can reset them for the future maybe even position them to move beyond the dak Prescott era.

Im not thrilled by this to be honest, i think in the long run this is gonna help the cowboys, id rather they had found a way to give him that almost 50 mil per deal.

The Cowboys didn't have the cap room because Jerry paid Dak and CeeDee at the last minute and didn't extend Micah last year when the yearly average for his deal would have been around 35 million. And to top of Jerry's insanity, he didn't trade Micah before the draft. He waited until a week before kick off. Guys we need to find the Lazarus Pit. We can drop Jerry in it. We need this man to live forever, the Cowboys won't win anything as long as he's around.
