Makes sense, why else would Terry be his only well-paid client if there wasn’t a personal relationship there
 
I’ve been one who is counting on the idea that Terry will eventually realize the leverage is nonexistent and get on with things. But seeing how prideful he’s been in recent months, I’m no longer 100% sure logic will win out. He may actually torpedo his career in a tantrum. I’m still 90% sure logic will have to win out, but it no longer feels like a sure thing that he wouldn’t cut off his nose to spite his face.

We have to start considering that despite everything we thought we knew/assumed about Terry “the man”…he may actually be a bit of a dumb guy. Hard work is a virtue and he’s got that in spades. He may be a workhorse, and the discipline to improve has always been there. But it doesn’t make you smart. He could be a bit of a meat head who has simply remained mysterious to us via his “blue collar hard worker” persona that nobody questions. I’m beginning to question whether he’s secretly a dummy, or secretly a huge ego case and it just never came out much before because Snyder gave in to his previous contract demands before anything went public.
 
The one true advantage Peters has is that he can credibly argue the team is not gearing up to win now. They are gearing up for a dynastic period. So yes, they want the winning to begin now, but not at the expense of a true multiyear run. If Peters, Quinn, and Daniels get this right, we're in for ten years of good times. If the casualty for that is Terry so be it.

So even the leverage of "You need my client to win now" is muted because they don't need to win it all this year before all the pieces age or price out. They are at the beginning of building something lasting. Now, just to counter my own argument, too many of our principle pieces are players that we don't expect to see on the field in 3 years. Ertz, Wagner, BRob, and a host of others probably won't make it into the glory cycle unless it begins "now." Actually, that holds for Terry, too. If he wants to be part of anyone's glory cycle it's got to be within the next one to three years which, of course, means Terry is the one who needs to be on the field if he doesn't want to miss out.

I dunno. I've listened to enough of his interviews, I feel like he's always come off somewhat thoughtful to me. I don't think he's a dummy.

I do think he's super competitive and wants to be recognized as a top 5 WR which he thinks he is.

He sees contract value and compensation as the means to that recognition.

Which is ironic since I'm still nominally in the "Pay Terry" crowd. I just think that there's pay and there's extortion or there's paying someone generously and being stupid. I don't want the team to be stupid.

By McLaurin's twisted and absurd logic, we too should be in line for compensation for weathering the Snyder years, and we did so a helluva lot longer than #17 did. Well, actually I think Snyder does owe us all a little something for what he put us through.

30% of the money he made by selling the team ought to be distributed to the fans for undue and absurd pain and suffering. As Piccard would say, "Make it so."

We deserve to find out if Snyder is made of cake during half time.
 
Can we legally give him permission to seek a trade as soon as he is healthy? Hopefully that would expedite things

My assumption is that Cooper could be had on a 1 year deal, but who knows....
 
Terry’s contract demands make him all but untradeable at 30.

Most teams have already spent their 2025 dollars and Terry is not the type of elite player that turns the table for an offense like Tyreek Hill was doing when Reid traded him to Miami for high picks after the Chiefs won the Super Bowl.

Going back to last year the Eagles rookie corners shut Terry down in the two matchups during the season.

While the Eagles ended up as the best team I would have expected an elite receiver to at least make his presence felt in these key matchups.
 
Cooper is done... Noah Brown is better at this point. I have a hard time believing Terry will sit out most of the year. He'll be on the field wk1 .. my bigger concern is what kind of game shape he will be in
 
Davante Adams signed for 22M a year but McLaurin wants 35. Dude is smoking crack.

He needs to get on the field, he already has a contract. Next year he is going to be 31 and probably isn't going to get anything close to 30M after a down season he is setting himself up for.
