Could be a bit of both. Hopefully it is a decision that works for the team. Depth on OL is always a really good thing to have, so it doesn't make me happy to see what appears to be plans with a surprising change. That rarely seems "good."

It's not ideal, but I kinda consider it a wash when combined with the recent positive updates on Cosmi.
 
Washington needs to look to sign a veteran who comes available at the end of the summer and NOT depend upon Chris Paul at OG.

We have been down the Chris Paul rabbit hole since 2022 and it's the same old story time and again. PFF scores among the lowest in the NFC at guard when he has to come in and cover for an injured starter.

Right now I am not that convinced that Michael Deiter is capable of filling in at center without getting Daniels killed. Last season when he got on the field for Biadasz was a disaster.

No strength, lousy technique.
 
Who was Nate Herbig - I don't even remember.
 
Herbigs contract was $1.3M with $642k guaranteed, including a $142k signing bonus (I assume he has to give back??) Not a bad payday for 6 months of work.
I just watched a video stating that less than 2.5% of US adults have at least $1M of investable assets. (ie not including their home) So it's still a lot to walk away from.
 
I've been a huge critic of Butler since day one. Terrible safety, but as good as Reaves on teams.

Our obvious investment into our special teams is worth pointing out. We've got league wide mentionable players and coaches on our special teams units.

I love that. Some teams use it to store developmental players and punt on it as an advantage. Ours is going to bring wins.

Agreed and as the new regime gets more drafts under their belts, STs will be loaded with their own players dev or not with great teams qualities.
 
We have good coverage units but we need to find that superior return man like the Cowboys have in Turpin that can turn the corner and go 95 yards to win a game.
 

They have signed tackle Lucas Niang to their 90-man roster. He takes the spot that opened when guard Nate Herbig retired earlier this week.

camp body fo sho. he was okay on the Defenders. Cornell Powell was probably their best receiver, but Sanders has more speed. excited to watch any DC Defenders player in preseason though.
