What Would You Like For The New Name Of This Team?

What about the Washington Legends? I remember this name being discussed during the rebrand. One thing I like about it is that it makes more sense to call Sammy Baugh or John Riggins Legends than it does to call them Commanders.

I remember that being floated on SM by some fans. I would have gotten behind that one and it is much better than many on the “official” (fake) list put out for fan input.
 
For what it’s worth, name and uniform brand convo starts at 7:50 - 20:00 or so. There are rumors they are tweaking the uniforms. Name changing apparently remains low on the priority list.

Bran Weinstein apparently mentioned a tweak to the uniforms, but said name change is not on the radar. So, we'll see. The white jerseys need to be reworked--why there is so much black but minimal gold is beyond me

Forgive me, but who is Weinstein, is he someone with the team? I genuinely don't know.

I think Bram mentioned they were looking to make some tweaks to it. I just came across this on Reddit and thought it looks awesome. Bring back the old uni's and incorporate the newer "W" into it.

Fanatics as this on line. It's a "fashion jersey" but you can imagine this kind of merged with the currently white ones, and they would look pretty good.

When I heard " small changes ", that's exactly what I was thinking:
Adding stripes to the helmets and pants.
This could be all, or this could be a step by step, year after year thing, until they're done.
For the record I still don't like that " W " but that helmet with the stripes and gloss finish does look better than the one we have now.

I'm glad that at least one source says they're definitely not ignoring it.

My personal opinion is they HAVE to do one of these 3 things this offseason:


Option 1. Roll out/Unveil the new rebrand. Surprise, we've been doing the work behind the scenes, but here is the properly done, professionally branded mascot/team logo (PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN, ONE CAN HOPE).

Option 2. Release an official statement from the team that while we haven't yet landed on the new brand, it IS coming, and Commanders will soon be replaced, but more info to come as it progresses.

Or Option 3. Release an official statement from the team that definitively squashes the rumors that Commanders brand is here to stay indefinitely. At least at that point, the argument is over, and those like myself will finally have to either get on board, or decide if we're going to stay a supporter of the "Commanders".


if we get to training camp and NONE of those have happened, and they force us to still live in uncertainty, it will be the first MAJOR black eye of the new ownership group. I don't believe there's even an ounce of possibility that happens, Josh Harris and the team are way too smart to let that happen. Praying they please don't let us down.

Well said. This issue absolutely needs to be put to bed one way or another this off-season. Saying the stadium is priority again, in other words putting us off for years, ain’t gonna cut it. And letting Bram Weinstein be your mouth piece while you remain silent on the matter would be extremely off-putting. But I doubt that’s the case, so I remain hopeful the Snyder abomination will be removed.
 
My take, after hearing the vid, is that renaming is a low priority. Part of it is the money. They're looking at a lot of expenses regarding a possible new stadium. And they're giving that priority over a new name. Because a new name is going to be expensive too. However, a new name is almost certainly on the table - even if it doesn't happen this offseason.

Makes sense to me, even if it's not exactly what I want to hear.
 
Everything is going to be a varying degree of suck compared to redskins. If rebrand is as expensive as they claim, id rather them concentrate on a stadium and give us better uniforms.
