Just finished listening to your wife's facebook live performance. For some reason, it was pretty choppy on my end. Damn internet. But that didn't keep me from enjoying the entertainment. Lovely voice. I'm totally jealous of her keyboard skills. And as we've mentioned on here before, most of us members definitely out kicked our coverage. (y)
I had a sketchy connection when it was Live, but the playback was fine...did you have problems with the play back?

I don't know if this is the right place to put this or not. Last weekend I got a letter from the state of NC saying my taxes are being audited for this past year. A pain in the butt for me, but I'm not worried as I have receipts for everything and I won't even claim it if I don't have the paperwork for it. But here is what really gets me:

  • My tax refund this year from NC is $832. Last year it was $830. So it's right on par with last year.
  • There are people that are scamming thousands and millions of dollars in taxes. Is ~800 dollars worth the time and effort to investigate?
  • There was no way to send in the information to the auditor electronically, which in 2020 almost everything I get is electronic and I send it to my accountant electronically. To print all this stuff out, I ran out of ink in my printer. It cost about $70 to replace the black and color cartridges. Plus the cost of a paper and the cost to mail it in, I'm looking this costing about 10% of my expected refund.

My accountant called and left a message with the auditor to find out what they really need. I haven't heard back yet. But we think we know what they are questioning and like I said above, I have receipts for everything. So after the review, they should send me a letter saying everything is good. This same thing happened to my federal taxes about 8 years ago. It's just such a pain in the butt for someone who has fairly simple taxes, doesn't make that much money, and isn't even getting a big refund.

Haven't had a chance to watch the playback. But I intend to.
I meant did you watch live, or was it just the video that you watched later.

I had no problem watching it the next day, it was my live feed that kept stuttering.

We're not quite sure how to deal with that. Gotta figure it out because she is going to try to do this once a week, if not every other week.

Watched it live. Hoping to watch recording at lunch today. Sorry, can't help on solution for you.

with all of the crap going on in this world, I am thankful to have a place of solace here.
Mike, you and the misses sure have carved out a nice little piece of the American Dream for yourselves and your kids. Kudos!

My roommates and I have been discussing all that has plagued us in 2020. Covid-19, the stuff going on from the George Floyd stuff, murder hornets. We were taking bets on what's next. Massive hurricane, the big one in Cali. Then within minutes, 3 news stories in a row made us realize we were aiming low. The 17 year swarm of locusts is coming, there's a new outbreak of Ebola, and there's been a massive uptick in earthquakes in and around Yellowstone. All that's missing now is a meteor. What a year.

Flying snakes would barely turn heads at this point. It's like my roommate said - back in March the Pentagon confirmed contact with UFOs and even released footage, and nobody even batted an eyelash over it.

Anyone interested, my wife is doing another show on FB Live tonight in about 5 minutes. Last minute, my apologies.

Didn't see it live, but watched it Sunday morning on the replay.
Especially liked "Baby What You Want Me To Do".

We did it more Elvis style when playing with the band. Good bump and grind tempo.
The chicks really dug it.

its a bluegill, but its his very first fish. he is so happy about it even this morning...

I must've caught 1000 of them as a kid. Fun stuff!
I was about to say the same thing. There were so many times we'd go fishing and seemed to catch a few dozen in a matter of 30 minutes, it was unreal. Good stuff.

Yeah, when Patrick caught his first, he looked at me holding the fish and said, "I love fishing daddy!"

Coincidentally, this picture came up on my FB memories yesterday. A little white perch, he caught like 20 of them, none much bigger than this one.

An amazing weekend. Had a great BBQ prepared by my wife while I drank a beer. Had a fire and set up the movie projector for the kids. They fell asleep by the fire on a blanket watching Monsters, Inc. while I kept the fire going.

Sunday I got my customary breakfast and then spent a few hours just pulling weeds from the garden, and mowing. Ended with starting a project that I now HAVE to finish since it is at the front of the house.
