Random Commanders Thoughts

Do you mean Preston Smith ?
So, what happens to Gallette ?

Yeah had preston on my mind
galette would be the starter still but I imagine it would be more of insurance for 2 reasons Scott talked to him and puts in his contract that they won't tolerate drug use and in case gallette doesn't return to form right away

Bobo!!! The lost bear from my youth!!!

What the hell was an owner doing nixing personnel moves? I thought that was the job of the GM? :) hahahahhahah Meddling owner. ;)
Guess the GM should have stood on the table for five hours and convinced the owner to make the trade.:blank:

Here is to the Eagles sucking for about 4 years

Couldn't happen to a better bunch, unless it was the Cowboys. Will be curious to see which GM's and FO are gone if these trades backfire.

Rams could be gone if they don't make the playoffs I believe philly is safe because New coach and the QB most likely won't start this season so they need to hit home runs on the rest of their picks

Heh. It's not like the Eagles have had front row seats to the suckitude that has been our draft process for 20 years now. Apparently their learning curve is VERY high.

Good.

Excellent.

It's kind of amazing that during the offseason in which Griffin is unceremoniously released from the Redskin, not one, but two teams trade The Farm for QBs in the draft. Who the hell are these QBs? Is there an Andrew Luck amongst them?

Serv, might it be presumptuous of me to request a Behind Enemy Lines? I'd love to know what Eagle fans think about this.

Best post I've personally read from an Eagle fan so far:

I just hoping this pick doesn't become a # 2

Wow Josh Norman.

*Takes several deep breaths*

I doubt it happens......but think of this.

We could cut Culliver right now who is coming off injury, and save his $8 million immediately. We have an out in the contract.

Then turn around and offer Norman $13 million for 3 years.

It seems to go against what Scot wants.....so doubt it happens.

think Scott could convince him to come here for a huge discount?

He's leaving a SB team and was guaranteed $14 million this year. So no, I don't think he's looking for a discount.

And it's way against what Scot seems to believe in terms of building a team.

But.....would you prefer to have Culliver and Andre Roberts on the team next year? Or Josh Norman?

We could definitely do it immediately if Scot chose to.

He is asking for 15-16 million a year
to cut culliver while he is injured would require an injury settlement
a mild to slim chance 4-5 QB are taken in the first round.

Could be be a strong player rated in the 10-15 range that falls to us

Eagles front office is stupid they say they know who they are taking regardless of who the Rams take. If they traded up for anything other than a QB they are dumb

Not to get too technical, but the money isn't an issue.

If we wait until June 1st, we can cut both Culliver and Andre Roberts and free up $12 million a year. There are many other options too.

We could cut Garcon and replace him with Boldin, etc. The money is there--no doubt about it.

And for anyone reading this who believes that Scot wouldn't have interest, remember this:

McLovin gave out an 8-year, $80 million contract to Nate Clements in 2007. Biggest for CB at the time.

So you know he's interested. I'm sure there are probably 25 GMs in the league that are at least interested at some level.

The bigger questions are do we want to pay one guy that much? What is his personality? Does this send a bad message to other players? How would this change our draft, if at all? If we dumped Garcon for example, we might have to take a WR earlier than we wanted.

That has to be weighed against shutting down Dez and ODB four games a season. And having Breeland on the second best WR.

Culliver and Roberts? Or Josh Norman?

There's a lot to consider, but based on Scot's history, I won't be shocked in the least if we pull the trigger.
