Kirk Cousins Development Tracker

ok wise guy (j/k). you're forcing me to a favorite simile I have used before:

how is a statistician like a drunk leaning against a lamp post?

the lamp post is used for support rather than illumination.

"I like that!"
;)

"I like that!"
;)

see!!!! my mission in life isn't to irritate everyone....at least not on a continual basis.

yea...that's always been a favorite of mine. and I'll concede up front....those folks who are good at the deeper "stuff" in stats...a respectful salute.

Kirk Cousins searches for excellence as Washington's starting QB | The MMQB with Peter King

Nice article about Capt. Kirk.

Cousins still can’t sleep on Sunday nights unless he reviews that day’s game on his tablet or drives into the office to watch it on the big screen, in an empty room with the lights off.
“I've got to see it at least once and go over all the mistakes,” Cousins says, “or I just toss and turn all night wondering what happened.”

And this from Ricky Jean:

He’s a natural leader, and he’s what a QB is supposed to be,” says defensive tackle Ricky Jean Francois, “but he beats himself up too much. You can see it in a player’s eyes. I don’t care what sport, if you ever want to know if a guy beats himself up, look into his eyes.
“But that’s just a quarterback searching for perfection.”

Yes. Deep. Soulful. Crystal Blue Dreamy Perfection.

Ricky Jean is not my QB

He's just a DE who said Kirk is the one....

"BUT THAT CAN'T BE!!" says fansince and tr1........

oooooo hooooooooooooo!

Those guys want the team to get better as much as we all do, no problem with their hesitancy.

Monday Night offers a chance to break another link from that chain of mediocrity.

If we succeed then the next link will be 'on the road'.

If the team fails Monday Night, several new links show up.

No one will be satisfied until the whole ball and chain is tossed into the drink.

Hope Monday works out....... then we can poke at 'em some more ;)

If not, they'll poke back. :betterwink:

All meant in fun.

No malice here....but I do have some malice towards Dallas!

:rifle:

I think we might be underestimating this guy.

I really do want what is best for the team. Clearly at this point in the season, Kirk is the answer. He also has several limitations, but then again, most QBs, even the great ones, have a few. No one has ever cited Peyton's arm strength as being superlative; Eli's footwork has often been questioned; Rodgers can be a gunslinger at times; Brees is too short, etc. If Kirk has the mental fortitude to learn from his mistakes and to correct them, that alone should be enough to provide us with a good to very good starting QB option.

His TD/INT ratio over the last several games shows that he may have learned from a lot of those mistakes. Even if we don't make the playoffs, but he continues that track, I will feel very comfortable with him moving forward.

I wouldn't say Kirk is 'winning me over' exactly. I guess he is in the sense that I can see him re-signing here and the team succeeding under that circumstance.

I do think he is playing better now than he was at the beginning of the season, and that's good. But to me, that seems to be more a function of the team gelling and playing better together overall rather than Kirk pulling the team along the way some of the greats do.

And that's fine. If we can win that way I'm totally cool with that. I could see Kirk becoming our Joe Flacco, which would be better than a sharp stick in the eye. :)
