PFT: Gruden says the “clock’s ticking” on Griffin

I have said this a couple of times and now once more:

The entire organization needs to STFU.

By all means do what you feel is necessary, just STFU and do it.

Gruden was hired to...as you eloquently phrase it..."elevate" Robert. RGIII tubes...Gruden tubes as well. I wouldn't keep anyone around who can't succeed at the primary reason he was hired. Is he firing at RGIII - or is he panicking? To me....juts like letting Allen chose his staff....he's an amateur in over his head. Moreover, RG doesn't make it...Gruden is looking at 2 or more years of developing another QB. Cousins and perennial loser McCoy aren't going to take any NFL teams to championships. Gruden is screwed if the RGIII ship sinks.

this franchise needs a real coach...and a capable coaching staff. it also needs, in the worst way, players who actually want to win. what we see before us now is a joke.

Who says? He was brought in to win football games! Yeah, part of that is to help Robert, "elevate" the team, but he is the coach of a football team, not the QB coach. You're minimizing Gruden's role.

I love how you call Gruden and amateur in over his head, but are convinced Robert Griffin with a worse resume at his job, is the answer to this team.

This. For the love of all that is holy and sacred, this. Just STFU already. ALL OF THEM.

This Goddamn team. Jeebus, Mary and Joesph on a raft. This team just pisses me off. I swear to God. I read all this crap yesterday morning and have been stewing about it since then. What a ****ing joke the Washington Redskins have become. Christ. We SHOULD change the name from Redskins because we surely aren't honoring Native Americans or past Redskins great with this horseshit. A ****ing joke. So all of the sudden Gruden thinks the ONLY problem is QB? Haz isn't worth a mention there Jay? Our OLine that couldn't pass block worth a shit shouldn't be called out? The whole ****ing team is playing like garbage, but yeah, let's focus in on Robert. By all means. I hope to God EVERY goddamn player has received a tongue-lashing behind closed doors from the head coach; if not, this clown is done. He has lost all credibility with me, and likely much of the team.

You think free agents are going to be lining up to play here? Coaches gonna be banging down our doors? Jesus. What a moron. What a short-sighted buffoon. What an embarrassment. Robert needs to be yelled at, no doubt. His play last week was an embarrassment to the Rex days for God's sake. He needs to be sat down and told that if we see another performance like last week, he will have blown that $18M extension he surely wants. Sure, another team might give it to him, but given his play of late, I doubt it. BUT DO IT BEHIND CLOSED DOORS. Stop making the franchise I love so dearly a laughing-stock. Seriously, this is amateur-hour here. Grow the **** up, Jay, and have some self-control.

This season just sucks. Sucks major donkey balls. I swear to God this is the epitome of stupid. Dumbass mother-****er. This team.

That report is disgusting. Sickening. Wtf is wrong with our owner? Will he ever change?

Rapoport also reported that many special privileges that were afforded to Griffin's wife and parents, such as access to places at training camp and Redskins Park where other players' families were not allowed, are no longer available to them.*
Yeah I'm taking it with a grain of salt. Everyone is looking for the next scapegoat, seems they found him.

The fact that it's newsworthy that a head coach has the ability to bench his starting quarterback speaks volumes about the Redskins.

I hope free agents aren't lining up to play here...that's part of the problem.

Gonna be a long day my friends...

But Brian, obviously Gruden is the Head Coach of this franchise. He has to hold himself accountable above all else, and the way he carries himself has to be above rebuke and set the example for the team. I don't know if I buy half of what is being said about Griffin, but he is a 24 year old still learning, and I still believe he can be influenced in a positive way by his coaches. I hope this 'tough love' (I think it's more unprofessional and selfish than 'tough', but that's me) works because if it doesn't, we'll never know if a better coach couldn't have salvaged Griffin's career.

Or maybe we will, after we trade him. I am truly stunned that we are going to give up on a 24 year old former Heisman winner, who helped win us the division 2 years ago, without more than a handful of games to try to get it right. But that appears to be the direction this head coach wants to go.

I'm starting to wish we had not signed him to a long-term contract.

Or it speaks volumes about the media - the ones who have been making shit up about Snyder for years without ever having to back their claims/innuendo up with actual facts. There is no evidence I have seen that Snyder has tried to direct the head coach on who should start. Not even when Shanahan was here - and you know, if that had happened, that we would know about it.

In all fairness, this is not uncommon in the NFL.

Good luck today everyone, but seeing as thugh it is 3.30AM on MONDAY here, I'm going to have to catch the result later this morning.

I'm just getting too damn old to be sitting up all night waiting for a game to start. Especially when we will get our buttocks handed to us on a plate!

That's what I meant to say.

Listen, I understand your point of view. I get that individuals need to be treated differently, but Shanahan...dick that he is...had trouble getting Robert on board with his philosophy. Now it appears that Gruden is having problems with his philosophy. What is the common theme is those relationships?

And I think Snyder's relationship with Robert is a part of it. Robert being successful sells more tickets than Shanahan or Gruden.

Oh - so we want to talk about patterns? You forgot to mention that Shanahan got run out of a town for whom he'd won Super Bowls for being a stubborn, intransigent dick. He's well known to be one of the most stubborn, difficult coaches the league has ever had. I'm not giving Robert carte blanche cover or excuses. He never should have been brought back early in 2013. He wasn't ready, and I think what transpired last year mortally damaged his confidence. I think a lot of folks miss that and chalk his poor performance up to 1000 other things that may or may not be real factors. I think the overwhelming truth is, he suffered a horrible injury, came back way too soon out of some misplaced urge to be a hero (or out of fear that Kirk Cousins would supplant him), and has had his confidence crushed when he couldn't get the job done. You can say whatever you want, but if Gruden can't take a guy with Griffin's talent and make it work - he's not much of a coach.

And whatever the relationship between Griffin and Snyder, what does that have to do with the team's, offense's, and Griffin's performance on the field on Sundays?

Nothing. That's what.

Trent Williams to the FO: "Hey guys, my parents are in town and would love acess to the locker room and VIP booths like RG3's parents get. My wife would also like to use the plane if possible to fly out to our next game."

FO: "Sorry Trent. We only have limited seating. But go give em hell this Sunday."

Evidence??

We don't need no stinking evidence!!
