Local news here in Dallas reporting that the Cowboys have cut DE Igor Olshansky. Might make good backup with Jenkins on IR for the year although he does have 8 years in so might long in the tooth for a team getting younger.
 
Wondering about Darrel Young... did he already get tossed ?

Igor is not on the radar screen - but Brandon Merriweather is a different story it seems. Time will tell.

Word leaking out is that Cooley could be out several weeks - like I said in the "Bold" thread, he goes to IR. Not saying it will happen, but...

So why is it the Redskins seem to be the only team that has not released any info on the final 53 if they were required to do so by 6pm EST, almost 3 hours ago? I just checked PFT and I noticed that just about every team has announced their cuts.
 
hey, some of these draft picks need time. Brandyn Thompson looked awful the first preseason game and evidently through the camp practices, but he bounced back to have some quality outings against the Colts and Bucs.

8 Wr's? There has to be something cooking in the trade world. We cannot be willing to use a WR to go after Tebow like the rumors suggested because our #2 WR came from them in a trade, so why all the WR's?
 
Brandon Merriweather is 27 and healthy. He has had some off the field issues with firearms possession, but is a guy that could help the Redskins right away in the backfield.
 
Merriweather would solidify the secondary. Goodbye Moore.

Others to consider...

Igor. Never hurts to have someone who is a 3-4 DL. He can be Jarvis' replacement for this season.

Max Jean-Gilles. Good depth on the OL. Need someone who would do well in the ZBS - not sure if he could do well in this system though. Maybe so.

John McCargo. You got to see him on Thursday night. So did our OL.
 
Max-Jean Gilles is like 600 pounds. I don't think he's a fit for the zbs.

He's probably headed back to the Eagles.

Worthington was a bit of surprise to me as Darrion Scott has been out of the NFL since 2006 and didn't show much in the preseason for a guy that is already 29 years old.

Worthington was a surprise to me too, but I noticed Scott making some nice plays during pre-season.
