Moving Down?

So we're either moving up, moving down or staying put.

I love pre-draft intel. :)

:D My thoughts exactly.

I think Shannahan isn't going to change anything, and he's just screwing with everybody.

Or, we could abdicate the pick all together!

Just remember, Shanahan is smarter than all of you. Not me, just you.

Some twitter talk out there about NE wanting to move to 10 if Quinn is there - could involve the 17 and 28 picks.

Yes, please.

I have a couple of NE fan friends who are worried Belichick will continue to trade down to amass more draft picks. In 2015, he plans to have the entire 7th round, I've heard.

Anyway, at some point, the Pats are going to have to trade up. They have 6 picks (I think) in the top 100. Picks in the first three rounds are all but guaranteed to make the team, and I am not sure they have that many roster spots open. Belichick may need to trade up to make sure he doesn't have more draftees than roster spots.

How could it involve the 28 pick? To get to our 10 pick it would probably be their #17 and likely a 3, #74 and a 5th. They will not give us their #33, that pick is way too valuable with the new format. #60 maybe, but I doubt it. #28? We would have to trade something back to them, plus that would be an ideal spot for them to get Ingram who they have been rumored to be coveting.

Let's just hope they don't trade with Cleveland since that is another trade I have seen discussed.

I'm sure NE has talked with the Redskins to see what it would take to move up to 10 and probably with couple other teams above us.

Most teams have talked with someone else about what it would take to move in one direction or another.

All it takes is someone to go where they shouldn't or someone gets nervous their guy is about to be gone...then you will see knee jerk reactions.

My guess: Newton to Panthers; Gabbert at 10 to Skins; Locker at 12 to Vikings; Dalton at 25 to Seahawks; Titans trade up to 28, take Ponder.

From NFL Spokesman Greg Aiello via PFT interview.

No trading of players for picks allowed in round one. That could change for round two and beyond though.

According to a few sources, we have had contact with our own FAs today.

Do ya'll want me to keep posting things that I see and hear? Or is it tmi?

I predict something will happen somewhere with some team in the near or distant future and we will all be amazed or not care.
Sir, I think you just may be a prophet

I'll pay you a billion dollars if you're wrong.

I'm with MikeSR, this guy has an ironclad plan. :D

Mort said that if Gabbert gets past Buffalo at three, he will slide to the Vikings at 12.

Uh, Mort. There is a team in the Washington, DC area that could make you eat those words.

Glazer and King both are now saying that the Falcons are very serious about wanting to move up and grab either A.J. Green or Julio Jones.

A bidding war for the number ten pick can be a good thing.

Music to my ears!

Here's to hoping we trade down and grab more picks!

Not really sure #10 will be high enough for either of those guys though. Many of the better mock guys out there have them both gone by #6 at the moment.

More chatter about the Pats really wanting Quinn. If there at 10, the Pats may be willing to give 17 and 28 to the 'Skins.

17 and 28? I just can't see that happening. I hope it does, that would be a great trade!

I don't think it will happen either, but you never know. There was a report about NE wanting to move up to 9 and pick Jordan. I never posted that one only because this one seemed more positive about what could happen. Then PFT says there is no deal to move to 9, but no mention of moving to 10.

I give it a 5 percent chance of happening, but again, you never know.
