2011 NBA Thread

Boston will have a tough time with the Heat. Not sure the Celts can run with the Heat over five games, much less seven. The C's will have to limit the fast break as much as possible, easier said than done.

The Celtics make the Knicks look like the Washington Generals. It's amazing that any professional team would hire a coach who's style of basketball is defense optional.

D'Antoni got too much credit for his teams in Phoenix. Nash was the driving force there. D'Antoni should get credit for recognizing Nash's strengths and forging an offense around those strengths, but that offense was all Nash, not the offense.

Plenty of punks on that team.....you can't just pick one.

Big Baby, Pierce, and of course, the biggest of all--the little baby known as KG.

Knicks at least making this game interesting.

See if I can keep the jinx going...

No way New York finishes off this comeback.

Glen Davis is a black hole. I have yet to see him catch the ball and pass it on a consistent basis. I have lost respect for KG this year, especially since the cancer patient thing with Villanueva.

Knicks are showing some heart, just not sure it will be enough.

Was begginning to think the Knicks might actually pull off the comeback until they pulled a page from the Barkley/Majerle/KJ Suns teams of the 90's and started chucking up dumb threes.

Great sweep for the Celtics. Very impressive.

Now, it's time for the Dwight show.

I predict 40 points, 19 rebounds, two blocks, one concussion, and more buyer's remorse for the MVP voters.

Might not be a bad idea to put a man on Crawford.

Just sayin'.

1/12 for three with two minutes left in the half. Not looking good for the Magic.

Question to McD5:

If Orlando loses to the Hawks in Round 1, does Stan Van get fired?

puh-lease. you telling me that anthony carter is the same quality PG as billups?

we both know better than that.

LA all day....
Rondo was one asst and one rebound shy of a triple double in Game 1 with Billups guarding him.

I don't think he's anywhere near a Rondo stopper.

Someone here once told me that Stan Van was 10X the coach Doc Rivers was.

Wonder how he feels about that statement now?

Better prep yourself for the new reality show based in Orlando McD5.

"Life without Dwight" will be filming it's pilot episode soon.

****. ****. ****. Aside from Arenas, I have never seen such crappy shooting in my life.

Diesel, that's a good question. Otis Smith buys the groceries, so I believe the finger pointing needs to start with him.

A team with no backup center? $24 million sitting on the bench? I tend to feel that's a management problem.

Neither one can feel too comforable right now.

At the time of that trade, I thought you guys gave up too much in terms of defense.

Just saw Stan say that he's been giving Arenas time off because he's not right physically.

Otis helping out a buddy Gil is nice but not when you have to give him every other night off.

Gil has been injured all season in Orlando. I mean physically unable to run the court. There is no way he could have played more.

I don't see how SVG can be hung for much of this. The Magic held the Hawks to less than 90 points. It isn't like the team lacked on D, or didn't put forth effort.

The team has very few players that can create their own shots, and that's an Otis Smith problem, not a Stan problem. Arenas, when healthy, of course can create a shot. Turk can create a shot. But when Turk drives through the lane and misses layups over and over, I don't see what Stan is supposed to do.

The team shot 9% from 3 point range tonight. Stan can't make the shots. If they had even shot a miserable 20% behind the line, they would have won comfortably.

The only solace I can take from this series so far is a financial one. I won $300 taking the Magic after intermission in game 3, and another $300 on the Magic -3 at half tonight. Still, I am furious.

With the Lakers having this much trouble with the Hornets I can't wait to see them against OKC.

That's if the Lakers make it that far.
