2026 Commanders Training Camp

Could yall imagine if we had drafted Carnell Tate like many here wanted? 0 catches this preseason. So so thankful we got Sonny.

Says Tate is 6 targets zero reception and 1 drop. So 5 throws didn’t seem to anywhere near accurate.

I'm not sure how you equate all 5 targets not being caught as being inaccurate/uncatchable. Could just be a good play by the D (PBU), contested catches that weren't caught, lack of separation, etc.

Laser accurate passes end up not being caught pretty much constantly.

I wanted Tate and like Styles, but its not as if Sonny is setting the league on fire this pre-season either.

I think he's been fine. He is what most people expect him to be for a rookie playing his first snaps. Elite athleticism, speed, fluid hips and very good in coverage, while still needing work to be that kind of run game thumper that the great all-around LBs are.

I'm not worried about him. Guy hasn't even played a single regular season snap.

So, it occurs to me that there's another reason I dislike starters not taking part in preseason snaps. I think it probably makes it harder to unseat a starter. It's also why I want to see draft picks get snaps earlier in the game so you can see how they fare against better competition. Maybe you can see enough in practice to make the call, but since there is no tackling in practice and everyone always says game speed is different than practice speed then I think not seeing the starters in live action limits the information you have as well as hurting them in terms of preparation.

😂 Tate was drafted to be their number 1 and can’t even get a catch in preseason. That is pathetic, any way you try and slice it. He’s never been a 1 and will never be a 1. You don’t draft him at 4th overall. Sonny will be just fine. He has a lot more on his plate than catching a football.

From everything I read Sunny actually didn’t make any mistakes he fulfilled his responsibilities. He just didn’t have any wow place.

Making any judgement on any player for any reason in preseason is really silly. You never know what they were working on or what they were asked to do.

Most of the analysts I have seen have given Styles a grade of C for his preseason appearances.

Ruben Bain has impressed the most so far.

I was a HUGE Bain fan

But yeah, Bain's fall felt a little silly. Reminded me a little of Johnathon Allen except think Bain could wind up much better.

Galdi had a guy on epidode 1,396 on August 26th, AJ Schulte, who did an all-22 film breakdown of Styles, and basically dispelled all the mis-information about how he has played in the preseason. anybody who hasn't listened to it should. I am not going to post a blow by blow transcription, but it was enlightening.

To me, both in watching the snaps, listening to AJ and just being aware of the hideously negative media environment surrounding the team, my position has moved to "the national media and the other critics have not watched what they are criticizing. So shut up and go away." It seems like the story is to try and cause as much hate and discontent as possible.

A lot of the local morons are on board as well. Screaming idiot, all the dumbasses on 106.7, etc. They can all fly a goddamn kite.

I have no idea how well Styles will do in the regular season. But the ridiculous negative hand ringing over like 15-20 total snaps is absolutely over the top stupidity.

Is Quan our fourth cornerback right now?

I'd argue our 4th CB is not on the roster but will be tomorrow after they IR Tunsil and Newton and re-sign either or both of Moreau and/or Hamilton Sr will be re-signed.

I can't keep track of these injuries. When did Oweh get hurt? Was it while he was knocking Tunsil out for the season, lol?

I think that is a concerning injury. Given how weak our secondary appears to be with Amos out (and it wasn't the strength of the team to begin with) and facing a murderer's row of WRs out of the gate, our best chance to counter the passing game was a dominating pass rush.

I would like our chances early better with a healthy Oweh.

I remember hearing Oweh was hurt at the same time they said Chiasson was hurt, Dolphins game.

I never realized how thick alligretti is, if hes not successful it wont be because hes not strong enough to anchor.
Dudes built like an oversized putbull.
