The Jayden Daniels Tracker

If they don’t do something about the interior of this line it’s not gonna matter either way. JD or any QB ain’t lasting long behind this line as it currently stands.

Our O line is crap, he played 3 plays and got sacked once, I think Dan would like to play him if he had a C and LT he could count on.

Jayden should play more in the preseason. He and the offense need reps.

Jayden shouldn’t play more in the preseason. He is too important to risk injury.

They should stop the F'n long developing plays on 1st down for his 1st time out!! He has NO time...so adjust your plays ( they did try one but failed). They better have a better running game and quick hits if JD is going to survive until OL gels....but YES..play him but be allot smarter on play calls...

We couldn't really run yesterday either because of the line play. Good-Jones got crushed supposedly all three snaps. Who even knows if it was a long developing play?

Jayden had his head elevated and up looking downfield...clear he was looking 20-30 yards out IMO. Should have been looking at LOS to see if blocks where there first. I think Quinn's practices are 1/2 speed and Jayden is clearly not in NFL gear yet. Again, Camp Gruden with Quinn...going to start just like last year. I just hope its not Eagles Body Bag II.

Two years. We had two years of slow starts, but in our playoff season, we didn't start against divisional teams. Much more expensive Ls to swallow to start the season this year.
I don't think we had a slow start in 2024. We played a playoff team in week one with a rookie QB making his first NFL start and lost. We then won 4 in a row and 7 of 8. That's not a slow start.

You never look at the rush. If you do, you're late on every throw.

This year's camp has been extremely competitive. All reports are this is probably one of the hardest camps in a decade.

If im not mistaken we played baker Mayfield that day.

That definitely wouldn't have been his first start.

Oh wait a minute, I just figured out you meant jayden, duh!

Eh....to me he should be looking downfield initially because those are likely where at least his first two reads are on most plays. The dump off option is usually the sneaky one that is there if nothing else is open.

Right. We were playing with a rookie QB making his first start, new HC, new everything, and we played a team that ended up winning their division. Who we then beat in the playoffs.

But Tampa was a good team, especially early in the season.

My point is losing to Tampa in that spot and then running of 7 of 8 wins doesn't equate to a slow start.

2025 was a slow start, middle and end.

I would agree if he had more reps at full speed but this was his first play in a real game speed. It would seem to me the coach would let him acclimate just a bit. The dump off was clearly there for him but he was still focused downfield with that DL already in his face. Given how things went last year....I just think they should ease into it a bit. As you saw..his series was a complete fail...

I think Jayden didn’t look as good as he could have (and did later that year) in week 1. That is typical, but to the extent/difference, maybe not. Significantly, there were timing issues. I have read plenty of analysis saying that the preseason that year may have influenced the supposed slow start.

That said, your point is definitely well made. That was a tough first game. As time passes it is harder to remember but I do recall Jayden being very off in that week 1 game which turned out to be very uncharacteristic for him.

Fast forward to 2025 we have another slow start for Jayden, rough WR situation and then his injuries ended up killing any possibility to see if it would end differently.
