Starting your season, even your preseason, out like this with new coordinators is just not a good idea. Last season failed before it began not just due to cheapness with the roster and poor drafting, not just due to injuries, but because somehow six months after an NFCCG appearance, the vibes were fucking RANCID. It wasn’t just the McLaurin contract situation, but that didn’t help. But the team felt “off” from minicamps, day one. None of the swagger and confidence and good vibes of the 2024 try-hard miracle squad.
So starting this way with new staff and huge roster turnover, it’s just poor for momentum and team morale. I know it doesn’t “really matter” what happens tonight, but starting August football off looking like this year things might actually bounce back…that has some sort of intangible value with players and fans (and coaches), I can’t prove it but I think it does. This is a lame showing even if the back-ups beat the Dolphins backups
