James Pearce Jr from ATL got 8 games for an arrest...

More beat folks are running with the story, but nothing more than what Nicki said.... No details... yet.
 
Looks like Phil Mathis got 3 games and they specifically named the substance policy... dont think this is drug or steroid related

 
Looks like the team played ball too... this seems like a technicality suspension. A rule broken, but nobody got hurt.

I think he recorded a game without the express written consent of the NFL.

I suppose it's protecting the privacy of the player, but it's a little annoying to announce they've been suspended but not what for. Obviously, it was nothing egregious because it was only one game. Still, we should know what it's related to.

Did Goodell's wife kiss him and he didn't kiss her back?
Did he forget to put the lid down on the toilet?
Did he throw a recyclable away in the regular garbage receptacle?
Did he not write a review for my book after he read it (that should be a six game suspension, btw)?
Did he use the word literally when he meant figuratively?

What did he do!
 
He probably placed a bet on a game, but the bet went so poorly that the NFL cut him some slack and decided that the financial loss was worth more than the season long ban.

Or it was a bet vs. Goodell and Goodell needs to Armstrong to get paychecks this season so he can pay back the debt.

If he said "I could care less" when he should have said "couldn't care less", then it is completely fair that the NFL said "oh, much less can you care about THIS?"
 
Sigh. It's only one game, but another not-needed off the field situation.

My guess is he insulted Daniels' mom for going after LSU, and she couldn't stand for that. :p
 
The thing that bothers me is the lack of proportionality. I have no idea what Armstrong did, but I am willing to bet it was chickenshit compared to James Pearce repeatedly ramming a car then resisting arrest and catching felony charges, all of which only got him 8 games.

....Or he hit big on the bet, shared it with Goodell, and instead of the multiple game suspension it would have brought,, Goodell only gave him a 1 game suspension. 🤷
 
Armstrong better appeal this. It’s a misdemeanor, not a felony. Meanwhile, in Seattle:
