I say play;

Game 1 a series,
Game 2 a quarter.
Game 3 rest.

I think it's tough to gain momentum or gel together in only 1 series. Starters should get at least 3 series tomorrow IMO

With what I heard about the joint practice, I wonder if they even need to see anything from them? The starters may come out for 1 series, just to mimic the game prep / lead up / warm up routines... that type of 'game day' experience you truly cannot replicate in practice. As sharp as we heard Jayden and others looked in 11 on 11, i don't see much of a workload at all

I agree to an extent but I want to see at least 20-30 pass attempts in this new offense over the course of the preseason.

Even joint practices are at least partially scripted.

More than anything, I want to have Blough and Daniels practice game day communication. Blough call it and Daniels hearing it on the field in the rhythm of a game. It’s Blough’s first time calling plays and no matter what you do in practice you cannot exactly replicate game day situations…

Daniels had 0 pass attempts last off season in one series of work, with a scramble for a TD. That was a bad plan.

I want to see some work.

I dont disagree.... I do want to see reps, im' just wondering how much they want to see given what they have already seen? We'll know in 24 hours.

Fair.

My hope is they are thinking along the same lines but eh, who the hell knows what they are thinking.

I don’t think they care much whether they’ll continue to beat up on the Dolphins or not, it’s not really about experiencing challenging football so much as stress-testing the gameday operation, communication, and execution. I agree with VoR on this one, whatever their plan was for preseason game 1, I doubt the fact that they’ll (ideally) march down the field on the Dolphins and (hopefully) immensely pressure their offense changes anything.

Daniels got lots of pass attempts last off season - he just didn't have them in preseason games. I'm not sure that was a big factor in our season... him being injured 4 times was though.

I agree on the biggest priority - 'game action' for Blough and Daronte Jones - who need every second of it. Only other real priority in preseason is avoiding injuries.

It shouldn't matter as much with mics in the helmets, but I do want to see how Blough and Daniels handle crowd noise. We've heard the play calls are longer and more complex so how are they doing at getting the calls in, communicating, and getting the snap off? I'm guessing it's fine because you probably do simulate a game clock in practice, but live is different than practice. So, let's see that.

It's funny. I was more amped for the practice than I am for the preseason game.

From a price point POV it's even funnier as practices are free and preseason games are full price.

I know most won't agree, but I would be in favor of eliminating preseason games entirely and replacing them with two joint practices including a scrimmage. Every NFL teams plays it's first game in Week 1. It will never happen because the NFL will never do anything that cuts into revenue.

Yeah....it's a kick in the nuts to STH's.....at least when they played at RFK you could opt out of paying for pre-season games.

Except the fact that the Joint Practice was only open to Season Ticket Holders who claimed their passes to that practice. Still had to pay, whether it's up front, or to gain access.

I don't think I knew that. I was just going off the general practice of free practices.
