This is a cool looking drill. Coach is slowly stepping while DB watches slowly backing up… when db gets to end of the pad coach breaks in either direction. Db doesn’t know when or which way so it forces them to read body. Trains the eyes at a slower speed to read and react

If this continues, that's really good long term. Has to do it in games and such.

B. Doubled down on Sainristill struggiling

This remains terrifying. However, I heard Amos was back out there, so that makes it maybe a little bit less terrifying.

C. Croskey-Merritt catching the ball well

That's great news. I haven't heard anything about him in pass-pro. But I guess a way to solve a RB not good in pass pro is to get him in the route quickly as an outlet, and use him as an outlet instead of picking up the blitz.

D. Newton hasn't popped like the other DTs, Omenihu has looked better than him

This is dissapointing. I guess the smoke Quinn was blowing early in the off-season on Newton really was hopes and dreams. Conn

F. Magee not popping much

He would be at best the 4th ILB on the team, so my concern level on this is meh.

Josh Taylor phrasing it like a negative rep for Sainristil when it's actually a positive rep is a bit weird. Does he have it out for him or what?

But the good news is the backup to Tunsil is probably Coleman, and that could be a lot worse. And Wylie is probably the third backup. Which also isn't bad.

Has anybody heard anything at all about Wylie? I don't even think I've heard him mentioned. They re-signed him to be a backup at all spots except center. I wouldn't expect to hear anything unless he was really struggling. Which I guess is good...

He seems hyped about most players in camp, has liked Sainristil in the past -- he doesn't think he's having a good camp. But I'll say from my own experience watching camp -- its subjective. People came at it with different takeaways.

I think Chaisson and Josephs got the better of him on a rep.

Honestly I might prefer Wylie at LG instead of Coleman.

I never thought that Biadaz was all that and a bag of chips. Serviceable? Sure, but not a plus player.

I don’t think characterizing Allegretti as a ‘big downgrade’ is an accurate portrayal.

I’m not sure I agree here overall. But… I think Allegretti is serviceable. And we can be okay with him. But… we cut a player that is at minimum also serviceable, signed immediately elsewhere and left ourselves with very little depth in a big year. Not sure I’ll ever understand that move. Even IF they wanted to start Allegretti.

But, we’ll see. Gulbin may develop into something special. Time will tell.

Considering they signed the 2nd street FA in about a week at center -- and i haven't heard of Gulbin getting any starter reps yet, gussing Gulbin might be a project.

They are either geniuses or complete buffoons. We will soon have the answer.

Coleman and Paul are competing at LG. I think Coleman is also backing up Tunsil because he did last year, backed up both LT/LG.

I guess I just don't understand why you thought as highly of Biadasz as you did. I never did. I found him easy to move in the run game and always banged up. He was fine, maybe slightly above replacement level. I haven't gone and done a film study or anything, but apart from the fact he was anointed the starter, I never thought he was that good.

If you believe what was reported by Keim, the team didn't feel comfortable with his communication and line call. They didn't want him. Probably for 4 reasons:
1. While he toughed through things, he was always hurt and therefore diminished
2. Communication and line calls were not what they wanted.
3. Would get moved around in the run game, did not anchor well
4. Given the 3 things above, was more expensive than they wanted to pay.

They didn't even want to have him compete for the job. I don't think there was a rift or anything, but the way they acted, it definitely felt like they thought it was addition by subtraction.

I get that you're down on the move, and that's fine. But I think the reasons the team has all but come out and said are pretty clear. So the part I don't get from your post is when you say "you'll never understand." I mean, they've basically said why they made the move. I understand it. And I'm fine with it. Maybe you understand it and don't agree with it... (Line from the West Wing: "I'm listening, understanding and disagreeing all at the same time." )

We'll see how Biadasz does with the Chargers. Maybe great. Maybe not.

The only thing which is questionable is if they could get anything for him in a trade. Keim said definitively they called around to ask to see if anybody would trade anything for him and they got no nibbles. So that's somewhat interesting also.
