That’s what’s irritating though, they could’ve waited to cut him until they had a replacement lined up, as many teams do. I understand wanting to be good to our guys but not at the expense of potential stability at such an important position for your young QB. I know Biadasz isn’t what they wanted and couldn’t apparently carry the mental load in this new scheme, but you know he’s functional if not ideal. It was just an unnecessary risk that immediately looked dumb and was tested the first damn day of training camp lol.

No argument. I can’t remember if he had a bonus or something due.

But even if they didn’t wait him out they could have found a better solution than do nothing.

I remember as a kid getting into comic books. It got to the point that I started selling them, too. I remember one time when I sold a piece of my collection for a tiny bit of profit and my dad told me I had made a mistake and taught me about something "replacement cost."

The problem with firing Biadasz before you've replaced him is the problem I discovered at 12 years old. So while they did a favor to Biadasz, they did a disservice to themselves...

Even if they turn out to be correct about Allegreti.

Gordon Ramsay is a total asshole trust me I know. He fucked over a very good friend of mine, Marco Pierre White. Marco was opening his first restaurant in London and he wanted me to be his sous chef. I had to turn him down because I had my first child and I couldn't move. He asked me about Gordon Ramsay and I told him he needs to be careful cuz that guy will stab you in the back. And that's exactly what Gordon Ramsay did. I would not pay a fucking dime at any of his restaurants nor would I go if I was invited as a guest with somebody else.

Man I had to think about that longer than I should have.

Thought it is Ramsay vs. Ramsey. One is a celebrity Michelin Star winning chef, the other is Patrick Ramsey. Who, and I will die on this hill Steve Spurrier destroyed. He might not have ever had the ability to be a top 10 QB, but absent the Spurrier induced trauma and absolutely horrid coaching early in his career, he might have been a mid-level starter for a number of years.

Could cause you to wonder if it solidifies a bit further what type of offense we could be running. Its definitely not a 'lock' but it could be an interesting coincidence that the guy we signed to be camp fodder for our injured starter ran a certain type of offense last year.

Also, I wonder if Blough is using some of the Ben Johnson terminology. He said openly he was changing some of what he had last year. Typically, an OC starts from some base and then adapts it. Heck, some of the basic WCO (and all the varients) terminology dates all the way back to Bill Walsh.

The two major branches from that tree were Shanahan and Holmgren. Holmgren's branch spawned the Reid branch. And Reid spawned Jon Gruden's tree.

So I do wonder if Blough is using some of Ben Johnson's terminology as a baseline.

i actually think this move has more to do with it than just a 'backup center' because I dont think anyone expects him to be here week 1, which means the ability to play is secondary to understanding scheme / system / language. He may be crap as a C, but who cares if he's crap at blocking in training camp? It means nothing. Having him be able to take the play call and align the protection, or at a minimum not run the wrong direction during a walk through is more valuable to get development to a new offense for the other 10 guys on the field.

Good catch. Experience and time with BJ already gives him a better look than Good-Jones

I'm pretty convinced by their inaction that their plan was to start Allegreti all along.

Similarly I don't think the rumors of interest in Linderbaum were all that real. As amazing as Linderbaum was at run blocking, his pass blocking was consistently Bottom 10 for Centers.

Good chance (not major chance, just good) that the team is pleasantly surprised by how both Chig and Sinnott are playing in this scheme, and that's causing them to drop the levels they're willing to pay Diggs.

It sounds like Jayden is actually getting comfortable with both of them, which is huge. That's always correlated to excess targets at the expense of other spots.

McLaurin, and if the rumors are to be believed Williams, Okonkwo, and Sinnott are all guys Jayden is feeling comfortable with in the scheme. I'm not saying we shouldn't upgrade. Just that if Jayden is feeling comfortable with that group, then maybe it's not as imperative to sign Diggs.

The most interesting question they have to figure out is whether our wide receivers are exceeding expectations because they are a good fit and it may work out or if it's because our secondary is weak. Part of me is worried that Douglas, a guy who was available this late in free agency, now looks like our best corner. In disclosure, I don't know if he was available the whole offseason or if he was recently cut/released.
