So, I will always be grateful that Darrell Green's people were dicks to me. Had they not been I would have never gotten a chance to write skits with and do voice work with the Muppets.

In this, I differentiate Darrell from his handlers. I have no idea if he was ever in the loop with the way his people jerked me around, but as I said, it resulted in one of the coolest times of my life.

We worked about a mile from each other back then, lol. At that time, I managed SallieMae's data communications hub. They were located off of Fairbrook Dr and Herndon Parkway.

I don't remember what # member I was on extremeskins but I believe I signed up in 2001. I was usually part of the unofficial road game tailgate party organizers for any road game in or close to CA. I met up with a bunch of early members in SF, Oakland, Dallas, Arizona, etc etc....feels like a lifetime ago. Such great memories.
 
I joined my first message board oddly enough on New Year's Day 2000. This was right before Snyder went hog wild in free agency, we had the 1st and 3rd pick in the draft and were coming off a season where they were a bad snap from reaching the NFC Championship Game. Expectations were sky high and we were all excited. I was made aware of ES but their reputation was that it was a board full of homers. I saw 400 word posts and figured it was not for me. I finally became a regular maybe 10 years ago and I really enjoyed the amount of activity and the conversations.

Anytime I see this word, I think of Jimbo. From way back.
I always felt sorry for him, because many of his own fellow fans would constantly mock him, just because of his age.
At a time when 95% of the Internet Fanbase was a bunch of wild, young guys, Jimbo was one of the very few older gentleman.
And members would call him an "old fart" etc
Now, all those guys have become Jimbo :)

I think about that dude from time to time, just like NavyDave and FanSince62. They gotta be gettin up there by now. Hope they're all doing well

He's had no activity since 2020. Gosh, that's when covid hit.

One of the things I hate about the internet is meeting folks, getting to know them, having a relationship online for years, decades even. And then they disappear without a trace. We've had that happen with a number of people over the years.
 
I'm curious if there's a thread or section of the Forum (that I apparently havn't found yet), made for the purpose of recognizing and honoring those that are known to have passed away, that were members here or previous forums. Sorta like the one for celebrities, except for fans

The problem is, unfortunately, we rarely hear the news. An example of a former member here who disappeared after being one of the most active ever and we've never been able to determine what happened was Fear The Spear
 
Before there was ES, before TSN...and before even the internet...us obsessed fans had to find a place on Sundays that was designated "Redskins Fan Club Sports Bar"
In the beginning of the 90's, for me that was a bowling alley in Pensacola, FL where all the Skins fans met.
For me, it was the Era of Jumpy Geathers.

Free Agent DL aquiree Jumpy Geathers started to make plays, and I became an instant fan.
I would jump up (no pun intended) and yell "JUMPY !" every time he made a play.
In fact, due to my B.A.C, a lot of times I'd jump and yell JUMPY, even if he did nothing during the play.

It got to where, each following week a fan would greet me by sayin "You're the Jumpy Fan, aren't ya ?"
Wouldn't be surprised if there was some on the forum, also from that Bowling Alley now sayin "Oh so you're the Jumpy guy"

Good times for reminiscing.

There was a legendary but allegedly true story about an ES dude and his wife about a strawberry mop.
But I can't remember the guy's name or any details
