The Pigs discuss the great John Riggins, and take a peek at the offseason moves made by NFC East rivals Philadelphia, Dallas, and New York.

As far as retiring Riggins 44, right on, but it pains me to think of him being announced as a "Commander" during the ceremony, I am with the you guys, full equipment and his classic helmet, that's what I want to see.

The NFCE has been Philly's lately but the team is aging, as stated in the pod and the talent is thinning out. Dallas if they get their D even marginally together could be a nightmare, of course does Pickens go the whole season without causing a ton of drama if he doesn't get the targets he wants? Also, their opening schedule isn't a cake walk, @NYG, vs Wash, @Hou, vs TB, @GB, @Phi and then @Zona. With how the NFCE goes, Dallas could be 1-5, 2-4 before getting an easier game at Zona.

Philly opens against us, @Titans, @Bears, vs Rams @Jags, vs Panthers, vs Dallas - this looks like a far easier go than Dallas or Washington to start as the Jags and Panthers we nice short stories last year but until there's any consistent winning tough to say those aren't W's for the Iggles along with us as they owned us over the past several years. I'd say worst case for them is 3-3 heading into week 7.

The Giants, I agree John, I'd rather have Harbaugh but that's not me :poop: on Quinn either. Whether or not Dart is the real deal, can stay healthy, same with Nabers will be important. Now they've got a slightly easier go at it the first six weeks Vs Dal, @Rams, vs Titans, Vs Cards, @Wash, vs N.O. - I can see them having a 2-4, 3-3 start with this schedule.

Then there's the good guys, talked about to lengths unknown in other threads and even in threads that don't involve the schedule but just for comparison in this exercise regarding the pod. @Phi, @Dal, vs Sea, vs Colts, vs Giants, @49'ers. Holy gosh moly. This could be another instance like Dallas, 1-5 and 2-4 start is not unimaginable.

I think what I'm seeing is that this season for the NFCE is going to be who finishes the end of the season the best and not necessarily who comes out the gates the fastest.
The whole division could potentially be below .500 after the first 6 weeks, not sure when the last time that's happened. Please note I am not putting the probability high that the division is below .500 after week 6, but I think the possibility is high enough to mention it.
