Funny you brought that up.
Just recently I been listening to Tony Levin on the Chapman Stick, in a 'supergroup' he formed called Liquid Tension Experiment.
Seems their so-called "experiment" was a success.

The drummer, guitarist, and keyboardist are all from Dream Theater, and each of them considered to be some of the best in the world at their craft,
by their own musician-peers, and not just by fans.

Once again you are on the right path.

I've been recently inspired by the few drummers who can do one-handed drumrolls on the snare.
And do it cleanly.
Which is huge. Because if a drummer can do that, it opens so many doors on the kit, because it's essentially like playing with 3 arms.

The names you mentioned as well as the names in the video, Mangini, Colaiuta, Gadd, Weckl, are all cream of the crop.
And all of them huge influences on my drumming. And I saw a couple of them, in-person at clinics, which was a real treat

But I gotta add this guy to the list of one-handed drum-rollers. He's the only one on the list who was a Hard Rock drummer,
and just one of the many reasons he's one of the GOATS of Hard Rock drumming.
