This is a guy who owned a company that forged thousands of documents and signatures to screw over the normal guy.

Then, with those increased fraudulent revenues and fraudulent user growth, he sold his company for an inflated price.

Later, he took on SIX, and although not illegal, used the riskiest financing on earth to fund the company--death spiral financing.

That company was a house of cards. And this risky financing allowed Dan to have little skin in the game, while the common shareholders had all the risk.

Did they know how risky it was? Did they know about the dilution?

Dan often came on CNBC to tell everyone how great SIX was, and encouraged all to invest. I never once saw him mention the death spiral financing.

He's a scumbag. Like Madoff. Winning football games won't change that.

Check the history books. There have been long spans of dismal seasons, long before everyone's favorite whippin boy ever came along.

That's my point. Places like Detroit have had 40+ years of futility but the owner and team have gone nowhere. LA doesn't have the fan support that the Redskins get. That's a Lakers town. This is a football town. Even if the team is bad for 20 years, people will still go to the games. Even with an owner like Dan.

This fanbase does not have the wherewithal do "give up" on this team so much that they stop going to games or buying jerseys. We're stuck with Dan for better or worse. We can only hope he learns and gets better.

Sarge, maybe you aren't familiar with historic anti-semitism and I know you're not the most PC-sensitive guy in the world , but depicting a Jew with horns is kinda like depicting a black guy as a monkey. It's something probably best avoided, even if one's motives are pure.

Having grown up in an area with a huge Jewish population, I knew about the horns and other negative portrayals of Jewish people. I knew anti-semitisim has been around from ancient times, but never realized that the depiction with horns also came long before the Nazi's.

The fact that he is complaining about that picture, when we have all seen it used on hundreds of other non-jews(Obama for starters), absolutely boggles the mind imho.

I'm not saying it is or is not offensive. My shock comes from the fact that he would take offense to that, and at the same time, try to defend the Redskins name as not offensive to another group of the population--albeit maybe a very small group.

He can't have it both ways.

His stupidity truly knows no bounds. Not only does the Redskins circus continue, but I believe he weakens his position on keeping the Redskins name now.

The Redskins unfortunately are in the position of being the bottom dweller in the NFC East, much as the Cardinals used to be. The team has some good players but not enough of them and the front office and coaching staff seemingly don't know how to use some of them to the best possible fit in re schemes and alignments.

So, the team lurches back and forth, from being able to field a credible team at 8-8 to then collapsing back and fielding a 4-12 or 5-11 clunker.

The Donovan McNabb trade is symptomatic of the disease.

You would never see Jerry Reese or the Eagles themselves trade high picks for a declining player like McNabb on a team with this many holes.

It's just counterproductive.

Snyder is in love with making a splash with names. His entire focus is 'name recognition' sells.

And that's what you get from a promoter, a marketer. That's what Snyder is at heart.

You are NEVER going to see him hire the NEXT great GM or Head Coach because that involves risk and trying to sell a 'no name'.

He is going to look for a name that has already been made and bring that person here.

He can spend money, but will he ever spend it wisely?

Bidwell for his part never wanted to spend real money.

And right now that's the only glimmer of hope.

But like the Mets with Wilpon as the Chairman a LOT of money has been flushed down the toilet finishing in the middle of the pack or worse over the years.

Actually, the reality is that as fans we don't care about a lot of that stuff if you're winning. So in fact, it would make a huge difference. Unfortunately for us and Snyder, the fly in the ointment is that he probably just can't stay out of the way long enough to be able to get to that point. He's saying he's handed the keys to Shanahan but I have to wonder, for how long?

If we somehow lose the Redskins name, (heck, even if we don't) my vote would be to change the name to the Washington Hamartia.
