The 2026 Free Agency Thread

The off season "hype" though feels plenty muted enough.

Yea, I'm actually not seeing a lot of hype. I feel like I'm extremely optimistic that we will be back close to year 1 status but I feel like most don't believe so are just talking a cautiously, wait and see approach

We could have traded Payne, acquired trade compensation, saved cash, and cap space, all at the same time with no tangible drop off in DL talent.
They must believe they can pry another contract year special like the 2022 11.5 sack season.

We spoke last year of Adoree being a good addition in Washington.

Yes, we are absolutely being underrated and ignored. One dink had us lower than the Dolphins...

Sign him. Now.

I basically always side with the female victim. And maybe she's still in the right. No pictures of injuries. No corroborating texts to anyone else. Other people in the house and nobody heard anything. It's not a Greg Hardy situation.

Diggs in time for training camp, in playing shape, etc -- I'd easily take over Aiyuk with all of the weird variables attached to him.

Peters apparently was surprised that Michael Gallup didn't have it anymore after sitting out a season. What it be that unusual for a dude who sat out even longer, who looks out of shape and is coming of a major injury isn't the same?

Diggs might be the most slam dunk signing at this point in a long time.
Although if we sign him everyone will bemoan another short wide receiver.

DGAF. I’d much rather have Diggs than Aiyuk
Oh, me too, probably even if there is a chance Aiyuk is a long term answer he is right now a very high stakes gamble. Diggs is a year to year patch, but much safer for the moment.

Regardless, fans will complain and fret. That's what they do.

It'd be funny if we signed diggs and the niners immediately released aiyuk.

It would become blatantly obvious they were holding him for spite if it wasn't already

Yeah I don't understand the delay in signing another wide receiver and somebody for the secondary especially when we have so much cap money. What's AP saving it up for? JD's extension?

Oh I don't think it will be funny, but I do think that's what will happen

Jesus. I was just listening to Danny Rouhier, and he brought up Michael Pittman. Are you telling me we wouldn’t have been better off giving up a trade if a 6th for a 7th and getting Michael Pittman as our #2?

Peters better come through.
