Welcome to Washington Antonio Williams!

Man he looks dangerously fast on some of those deep patterns.

We will discover what his true YAC ability really is. Last year, Williams was playing with a hamstring as well as having to overcome really poor QB play. I bet both impacted his ability to get YAC. How different was his YAC in 2024? Anyone know? I remember our YAC disappearing when Heinike was our QB. A QB who sprays the ball or has a weak arm that makes a wide receiver wait has got to limit their ability to make plays after the catch.

If we can line up Williams against a safety playing off like in that first play, he can absolutely tear up some vertical routes.

He's got potential to play above expectations if the scheme can set him up. So that part gives actual hope he can be a productive rookie.

I think this is part of where Blough is going to be superior to Kingsbury. Motioning people. Lining them up in different positions to get favorable matchups. Thank God the days of Terry just lining up on the left and waiting for CB1 are over.

I hated that, he didn't deviate from it much either. Like I get doing it for a bit for a rookie QB to help their reads out. But at a certain point it's just creating artificial limitations because you don't know how to have a QB do otherwise.

He had Caleb and Kyler as QB's, those two needed training wheels. Kyler never maxed out what the training wheels could do while Caleb can still grow out of them with Ben Johnson (but he's still in a different version of them now).

All the reports indicate Jayden works hard and is football smart. He gets it. So take the training wheels off, unless Kliff doesn't know how to operate an offense without them.

Every QB needs a system in the NFL, that's especially true to foster growth, but eventually the system has to evolve. Kliff couldn't evolve.

What I really don't want the team to do, is to keep looking at this glass half full and thinking everyone will magically become unlocked in a new system. Antonio Williams alone won't be that missing piece.

Him getting 600 yards and 4 TDs would be fantastic value for a 3rd rounder. But that's also not good enough for WR2 on a team that has playoff aspirations.

I should have put this here

If you watch the first 1:40 of this video which is all against an elite Georgia team and one more after that game, he is on the outside in basically every play, cooking them with elite route running, shiftiness, and separation. He will get better there the more he plays but I feel like he can be a starting outside receiver.

Thanks, I've been meaning to look at his 2024 stuff, just never got around to it yet.

I think we truly unlock him IF we get Aiyuk and IF he is Aiyuk of old (this is far from a foregone conclusion).

I also think Aiyuk unlocks Terry (again, IF).

Terry moves to Z, Williams to slot, Aiyuk at X. It changes everything. I think a true X might even unlock guys like Burks, Lane and McCaffrey. It gives us so much wiggle room.

Playing from the slot I think he can have a production year above predicted.

So you don't see Terry as a true X? I always thought that he was for the most part but always had subpar QBs or played in pretty boring offenses that wasn't going to feed guys a lot

He can play there.

But now let him be put in motion. Watch the difference.

Super slim chance of this possibly happening given it's in shorts and rookie minicamp etc etc...but any chance Beatwriters have mentioned Antonio Williams looks like he moves different in his routes than the other group of WR on our roster?

Trying to figure out how much faith the team really has in Williams right now.
