The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

Dallas helped the Eagles get Lemon.

I wish these East teams would stop dealing with Roseman, he usually pulls everyone else’s pants down in these trades.

His first name is Alexander. Sonny is a nickname…based on the Sonny character in The Godfather due to his behavior as a child.

Sonny is usually a nickname. The other Sonny was Christian I believe. Alexander is also a great name. I have a thing about names.

I do think the Sonny thing is cool though. RIP #9.

Reese is scary, but we have good tackles. Mauigoa is not a sexy pick, but picking good oline is smart.

But yeah I’m relieved they didn’t get Love.
Giants now have 4 good edge players who are all kind of the same guy. All in the 250-260 range. Kind of tweeners, similar.

Gives them depth but not really great roster construction. Reese is a one year starter as well who probably doesn’t know what his best role is himself.

Our corners could be awful and the defense has no excuse not to be top 12. I’ll give them the extra 2 places to account for injuries
Gotta get Blough and JD help now.
I'm going to assume they're going to add a couple depth CBs, and I have some faith in Amos and Sainristil on the outside. I think they're better than suck. I'm REALLY concerned about depteh.

I think Whitt was witless when it came to how to use Sainristil, and better scheme and being used better, he's going to bounce back in a big way. That's not only my hope, it's kindof my expectation absent injury. He showed enough his rookie year for me to believe he can be a good player when placed in a better position.

Amos looked good until he got hurt.

My problem is if either of those go down, my cat probably has as good a chance as any of our backup outside CBs. And she's a small cat.

But I'm sticking with top 10. Has to be top 10. I typically use DVOA as the ranking, so I'm saying if it's not top 10 in DVOA, I'm dissapointed. If it's 12, I'm disapointed but can live with it. If it's 15 of worse, I'm firing people.

I know that no one is supposedly trading 2027 1st rd picks but why not consider trading next year’s 1st to get a WR tonight. If we get a WR and Jayden stays healthy with our much improved defense, we could very well be picking very late in next year’s draft. Just a thought. I’m sure I’ll get roasted. We desperately need a WR.

Harbaugh said Reese will start at ILB next to Edmunds and move around/blitz from there to begin with.

Very puzzling why they didn’t just take Styles. I’m grateful

no one worth trading that kind of asset for what is left now, I think. 2027 draft is supposed to be considerably better than this year. I think it's a bad idea. I think we'll be in better shape with our receivers this year. not by a huge margin, but better.

I don’t think there’s a receiver worth trading back into the first with a higher value first for

Two new coordinators and a mess of new players.

So, no time to gel? This is supposed to be a well oiled machine from the get go?

Experience watching the game says show some patience.

I think this is the right strategy. But I don’t get why they took him over Styles.

Certainly the most pathetic to witness. Feel for him due to the cancer, but the man had given up long before the end of his time here, was a shell of who he started as, and loved to pass the buck and blame others. Quietly the most arrogant coach we’ve had in my lifetime, more than Shanahan even. He was hard to watch.

Then the way he tickled Snyder’s balls one last time, defending him when he’d already sold the damn team…could not respect that man at all after that. Fake morals. Weird military wannabe obsession. Loathed him by the end even as I rooted for every loss.

You’re describing an entire swath of the national population that I’m pretty sure you and I would love to blast into the sun.

For fun - what if the Giants took Styles and KC still moved up to get Delane…would Skins have drafted Reese? I’m glad it worked out the way it did. I had Styles > Reese.

No way. Next year's draft is a lot better and none of these WRs are sure bets. I rather sign some vets
