I just went through that list. 17 Wrs. Five of them are X boundary WRs. The other twelve are Z or Y.
Of the 5 boundary WRs, 4 of them are run by you athletes. One of those X Wrs is really good, Brian Thomas.
Denzel Boston isn't a run by you guy as to beating man. He uses releases and physicality and yes that translates to the NFL.
But while I appreciate all the data you keep spitting out -- i don't believe there is a one specific data set that predicts WR success. You got to factor context and watching the actual player. If it was just a simple numbers game, what's the point of having scouts, just plug in name that PFF number and just ride with it.
My point about PFF is even they don't buy running purely with numbers in their evaluations. If you go purely by PFF scores, PFF's owns rankings don't match up to neatly to their rankings so why should we weigh their data more heavily than they do?
I was starting to think maybe he had turned a corner but the rams offseason moves would suggest they aren't all that happy with him.
Apparently he's a shit down cornerback but hes missing the down part.

An interesting thing I learned today about Delane is he will turn 23 in December. Call it his age 22 season but man, thatās a demerit for me, especially in the top 10. Itās not just that heās lost a year or two in the pros, but also have to wonder how much it contributed to his collegiate dominance.

To be clear, I agree with you about there being no specific data set and context matters. No doubt. Certainly donāt mean to represent otherwise. Iām just saying, odds of a hit are reduced when you donāt hit certain benchmarks. These data indicate success against zone correlates more to nfl success than versus man. And that below certain thresholds against zone, there havenāt been many success stories. Does that mean Boston canāt succeed? Of course not, but itās asking him to beat longer odds.
Same as it goes to your point about PFF. I weigh it more heavily because heād be an outlier and outliers have by nature longer odds. And also their grades and rankings are kinda meh to me. Especially the rankings.

Ideally you want 20 and elite but 22 isn't bad, plus I think with NIL and the transfer portal draft picks are going to keep getting older.
Both bailey and Mendoza are older than he is.
Jayden was his exact age almost when we drafted him.
Now if he was 24 or 25 absolutely but 22 is pretty normal.
OK, cool. I like using PFF and studying stats, too, its a factor for me but not the ultimate factor but definitely part of the soup for me. Here's what I compiled for WRs so far.

Yeah, itās a thing I didnāt love about Jayden. Terry was damn 24 his first month in the league.
Still, Delane is a year older than most. Didnāt realize Bailey was too. My point on the prospects all along is you want premium position, elite player, clean profile, and age is part of that. Itās the first ding for me on Delane other than he's not a Stingley or Surtain level prospect. Seems like no one checks all the boxes that will be available at 7, which is a shame.

Well it is true, a lot of the good WR's will be gone before the 3rd round. I should however have said most of the good WR's that can contribute right away will be gone before round 3.
I said that because in the current state we are in we need a player that contributes right away. Yeah I know, they will sign Aiyuk, or Jennings or someone....but until/unless that occurs, this is our state. We can't wait on a guy for half a season or more like Lane or Luke. And there is a chance a dude like Sarratt for instance is gone

I agree that WR in the 3rd may not make sense, based on needing immediate production. I think it also may not make sense from a roster standpoint. We are already trying to develop Jaylin and Luke. I donāt think you can ready carry 3 developmental WRās on an active roster. That would be half of the receiving core.
There were some teams that already had the S in that slot but with the medical flags and a deep good S class this isn't a shocker. No way he goes near 15 though
Absolutely, but there are a number of 1stt and 2nd rounders who appear ready to at least contribute heavy early in not start right away

Yeah everything Iāve been reading about this class is there are only three high ceiling guys. Now you might find a flavor you like later on that can stick in the league and contribute, like a Noah Brown type, but man, thatās just not what this team needs IMO. And to your point, itās mainly because you have two spots jammed up on slot special teamers that may or may not develop. And you have Burks, who is essentially the same as the type youāll get in the mid rounds. Hopefully heās in a camp competition and not assumed a roster spot.
The logjam of fairly unproductive WRs is a problem. Unless you want to move on from some of them, it means you have to aim way higher or end up in the same situation as last year.
So for me, saying it again and again but Aiyuk + Tate/Tyson/Lemon is the only way to start fixing the room for the long haul. And then Terry leaves next year and you draft another one, in a much better draft, in the 1st or 2nd, unless by some miracle you fix it in free agency or a trade in 2027. The room is a total mess as we stand today and you can pretty much bank on losing the only legit guy in Terry next year. Significant assets need to be spent here and youāve already filled all the developmental spots, so you gotta aim super high.
And that goes back to my earlier post where I said I couldnāt disagree more. Itās because thereās only room for real ones, not dart throws.

I think this is a very clear-eyed, objective take, makes very good sense especially with the imperative of getting JD what he deserves
Mitch Tischler, who I like, on 980 going on about not Love at 7 and that he struggles against the better teams, low yard performances and you'd want more from a guy who is supposedly elite.
So lol, i looked it up. 4 games against ranked opponents averaged 125 yards a game. Only meh game was against the U. If he just said he had one bad game against the U, fine, that's correct, but him struggiling in big games is silly -- not true.
