If anything, I want to say thank you to Mansoor for making our #7 pick that much more valuable.
Could mean he is taken by lets say the Giants who can use a corner or the Titans, and thus helping another prospect fall.

Down for it, if that means Love falls.
Otherwise, I think I’d rather have Delane. We look decent at DL and LB, and I don’t feel like we are that solid at CB.
Styles may be more special as an athlete at LB, but CB is a more premium position, CB is a bigger need for us, and Delane’s tape is probably better than Styles’, and he’s still a good athlete
I am going to kindly ask that every single one of you posting mocks with us getting Love at 7 to stop doing so. You are going to jinx this and if he winds up going before our pick just know I am holding each of you personally responsible for that folly.
Only post mocks with us getting Bailey moving forward.
Thank you.
Delane is on my personal short list for realistic options at 7, but for that to happen, AP would have to essentially wave a white flag on Sainristil. He’s shown to be better on the outside than slot, but Amos is locked to start outside and we just signed Robertson to play slot. So what happens to Mikey?
I’m not saying that’s a good reason to pass on Delane, but it’s got to be something that goes through his mind. Spending a 2nd, 2nd, and 1st on the position in consecutive years is…not ideal.
Been watching him some on and off. Monster nose tackle, reminds me some of a smaller Vita Vea or Jordan Davis. Vea who was seen back then as more of a run stuffer than pass rusher but evolved as a pass rusher in the NFL.
McDonald with arguably a better size to play nose than Vea because he's not as tall, helps leverage, etc. Space eater on steroids, sheds blocks, absorbs double teams and can break those double teams. But he penetrated and in harassed the QB much more than I expected. And they moved him around on to play the B gap, not just the A gap.
I’m not sure it means giving up on Sainristil. Mikey hadn’t been as good jn the a lot thus fqr, but we are going to have a new scheme under Jones. Maybe he can flourish on the inside, with a better scheme and better pressure.
Is he projected to be there in the 3rd? We need a DT in house if we are going to let Payne go next year.
I’d be worried about his tackling but perhaps Mikey can go be safety who plays a lot of post safety
Also judging by their 30 day visits, trading down seems a very alive concept with them. Mind you, trading a pick away that lands their trading partner with an elite player -- in favor of a couple of solid player or a solid player or bust or some sort of version of that seems to be in this team's DNA.
Keep it mind with those extra picks we can get the next Spencer Long, Cole Turner, Jarvis Jenkins, Ben Sinnott, etc.
I actually think he could be a better version of Quan, but it seems we float the idea of moving a corner to safety every few years and I can’t think of one that worked out.
Sure, maybe he could go back to the slot and be better in a new scheme. I’ll stand on my opinion that it would be a defeat for AP on an important early draft pick. If you’re drafting two additional corners early in successive years and shuffling the first guys inside-outside-inside, it’s not supposed to go that way. Can’t imagine AP isn’t cognizant of that, especially with Dejean doing his thing.
Malcolm Jenkins and Antrel Rolle. Both were 1st round corners, didn't really work out there, moved to Safety and became pro-bowlers that helped their teams win Super Bowls.
I think another one would be Jordan Poyer. Got a lot of draft buzz, but concerns about ability to stay at corner, a bad combine, etc he fell far in the draft. Eagles drafted him and then got rid of him when the corner thing didn't work out. He wound up being a pro-bowler at Safety for the Bills for like 8 years.
I meant for this franchise. Things like that don’t happen here lol.
