The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

There are a lot of good positional value arguments being made and they're valid but we gotta remember that if it weren't for positional value we'd have no chance at all at getting him.

Pick number 7 is a good spot to land a possible generational talent.

Hmmm. Going back to your draft delima skinsinparadise let's say that Downs was there and LA Rams came calling at #7 do we move down to #13, #61 and #93 for our #7?

If its exactly like the PFF mock simulator I posted where he is the only one left among the ones I covet. Maybe. I want to see what Downs does at his proday on Wednesday, first.

that's nuts, wonder if he sneaks into late first now, great player

Agreed. I don't think you can pass up a talent like Downs when it's a need too on our team. I ran a draft simulator and there are no way the results come out like it did as PFSN mock draft simulator offered me the LA Rams deal that I mentioned along with a 2027 2nd round pick. Check out the crazy attached results.

Goood haul.

I am not fixated on measuables in some spots, safety among them. But if I am drafting a safety top 10, I don't want meh measurables. I want them to be at least good. So I'll have a better feel for how badly I'd want Caleb or not in this scenario after his proday on Wednesday,

For me, assuming Bailey and Reese are gone as many expect but you never know.

Giddy if they took
1. Love
2. Styles

Excited if they took
1. Tate

I am good if they took
1. Downs
2. Delane

I'll go for the ride without complaints but will worry some
1. Bain
2. Tyson

You added in Tyson..... Man I was just watching his tape today. One guy was comparing him to Justin Jefferson. The way he moves and comes out of hos breaks. Huuuuh dont like injury prone players but hard notnto love his tape. Not at 7 but with a trade back I would not be mad at picking him.

Surprised with the U proday, Bain's measurables haven't been leaked yet. lol, prodays tend to be more favorable to the players, expecting Bain's arms to measure 36 inches with the U's measuring tape.

The Jefferson comp for Tyson is interesting considerng that's the one I keep seeing for Tate including in some recent mock.

Neither one reminds me of Jefferson stylistically. Tyson at his best reminds me of Stefan Diggs (that's the comp I see the most for him) maybe Beckham. Not as good as either. But he has that twitchy style, quick feet where he can get open quickly on the first level-tight spaces. Tate reminds me of a cross between Devonte Smith and Devonte Adams stylistically. IMO he's similar caliber player to Devonte Smith.

In a trade back, I'd be cool with Tyson. if his healthy checks out I think he's a bit overhyped where his injuries have elevated his myth so to speak. Where its cool to say if healthy, wow. To me he's not wow if healthy. But he potentially could be very good. I think both Tate and Tyson similar ability, different styles, in that Olave, Drake London, Devonte Smith class.

Why Carnell Tate's NFL comparison to Justin Jefferson isn't too far off

Ohio State's offensive standout is expected to be selected very high in the upcoming NFL Draft

That’s quite the stretch and an insult to Jefferson who is currently one of the top 5 WRs in the game. Jefferson can do it all for one. He is elite both in route running and YAC. You can line him up anywhere. Tate has a major weakness to his game and it’s YAC. He doesn’t create after the catch. Stop with this rage bait. 😂

Jefferson probably goes top 10 if Brady didn’t move him inside in 2019, everyone just figured he was a slot receiver 😂

The have a similar 40 time and catch radius and that’s about where the similarities end.
