This is one expensive thong.

Where are you seeing the thong, birds eye view or column detail view ?

Asking for a friend.

……assuming it’s not a typo for ‘thing’……….

There was an overhead render that made it look like a thong. I declared that henceforth I will refer to the stadium as ‘the Thong”

It’s no surprise your draft prospect reviews are so insightful with that kind of vision.

Impressive.

As an aside, a visit to the ‘Thong’ is high on the list of things to do in early retirement for me.

It’s a talent I was blessed with, I didn’t ask for it. It can be both a burden and a blessing.

Is this like a thong in a catalogue, or is there an ass in the thong? Also, does the ass stretch outside the stadium.... so the various section of DC are the ass cheeks?

These are important questions that I need answered!

There seems to be some concern about the height of the parking garages taking away from the façade of the stadium. I’m fairly certain they will take this into account and probably three or four levels will be below ground level. The highest point of the stadium is supposed to be at least 70 to 80 feet taller than the parking garages.

This one is my favorite so far. Going to be gorgeous in the Fall. View attachment 14335
Where is the parking and the ability to tailgate? Getting the feeling that is going to go bye bye. 110 foot high parking garages? Are you going to be grilling in a parking garage? And imagine the wait to get out of those garages. Sounds like a cluster fuck to me.

Initially, several places where they plan to put residential areas will be surface area parking lots. Personally, I’m not taking a position on this either way, because I enjoy going to tailgate and I enjoy going straight into the stadium, but I’m fairly certain they’re anticipating people will eventually just start showing up early and hitting the local establishments around the stadium.

There will always be a tailgating element, but I think they expect it to be greatly reduced over time. Again, just my opinion I’m speculating on that. I think if people are open to it eventually groups will just meet at certain establishments before the game. As long as the food and beer is reasonably priced. I went to the Journey concert at Capitol One Arena a few weeks ago and we ate at a restaurant in the arena right next to where security check-in is and the food and beer was very reasonably priced. Got some happy hour wings and a couple of beers. Not as cheap as a six pack of natural light but close enough for the convenience lol.

I still think back to what Dan and Bruce released with the stupid moat which would have ended up in Dumfries or some other place which is hard to get to.

We’ve come a long way.

The moat would have been stupid but it would have been badass stupid.

I agree with you. Like you said, no opinion on whether people will actually be pleased with it or not, but due to the easy metro access they’re clearly expecting less of a “drive to the game with a truck full of BBQ equipment” element to the pregame ritual. It’s sad but that’s clearly a sacrificial lamb for the DC-centered new stadium, filling in around the stadium complex with residential and commercial property over time

I want my moat.

Oh, it's serious here in ATL, especially at the train stations. It took Ms. Val and me forever to get home from the game last season. I can't even imagine driving downtown anymore and trying to get back to the Stone Mountain side of town.

Can you imagine trying to get off that roof deck on gameday.

Might as well leave your car there and come back the next day and get it.
