I thought they'd have Jennings, but I think today will be more offense--White, most likely. I still think they HAVE to sign a receiver, even if it's Allen on a 1-year deal.

Granted, it's a small sample size but Sinnott has averaged 5.1 YAC over his career.

He looks like a TE to me. No more lumbering or unathletic than any other TE in the league.

Possibly with the addition of our new TE Chig it may open up more opportunities for Ben. I hope so.

Definitely. What they tried in the past wasn’t working and Peters (as far as I saw) didn’t mention any sort of cash budget this offseason like he did previously. In fact they clearly signaled local and national media to kill that narrative and that they would spend. So that’s good

He did mention its a cash budget in one interview again. But in defense of Harris from what I hear most owners function that way. Besides the interview it came up again in the context of the Biadaz release with a reporter referencing fans are obsessed with the cap, but owners are obsessed with cash, and that release freed up 8 million.

I suspect but clearly don't know that they got a bit cute in 2025 out of arrogance. I get the logic to some extent. We almost made the SB without busting the budget. We got a genius GM, with even the owner calling him Adam "fing" Peters who turned around a terrible roster to a borderline SB one in one off season let alone pulled Washington out of their forever QB hell. And we got Quinn the ultimate culture builder who can do magic.

I know some here really really hate it (not you) when I make that point and I get some pushback from the same people on it. It's cool, we will agree to disagree. But from bit and pieces and various reports I got the vibe even before the Titanic crashed into the iceberg that this regime was feeling itself.

And heck in their defense, most of us probably would feel the same if we took a wretched team and turned them around overnight and got praise to no end for it. So why not run it back with a similar approach? And you don't have to break the bank to do it. If we can do it with Zaccheus, Crowder and Dyami heck this year we can do it again with name Peters favorite three street FAs at WR. Let those clowns the Bears keep putting resources into WR-TE, ha, you see what it did for them last year? Nada. Let the Patriots go nuts and overspend in FA -- they didn't get the QB we did, and they are losers, good luck with that.

I am adding some drama to make a point. But in short, I think Peters-Harris saw that the more modest FO approach blew up in their face. And to defend both of them. And I've said this at the time when I was upset about this, too -- I expect a bounce back because I've heard that Harris and Peters are driven as hell and are the types to learn from their mistakes. I have more concerns on that front as to Quinn then I do Peters and I said so well before this FA spree.

Hollywood has been a disappointment IMO, injuries and seems like a headache. Atwell, don't love him, but like him as a backup idea to slot. He's no scrub. The Rams paid him 10 million last season.

If not him C. Austin sort of the same idea, not great but brings speed, also D. Mooney. None of them barn burners. But for as much as I like what Peters has done for the defense, Right now, he's flirting with having the same bad depth at WR they had last year. And at the moment weaker depth troo at the O line and RB. I assume he will address it but options at WR or RB are small right now. For me its Jauan Jennings and Rashaad White.

I still want to hear Jennings name, AP has shown serious success in his signings after the early misses. Hope he hits with him and White but we will see. I feel like White would be giddy to be back with Jayden like Cross is about being in Washington

At this point, I'm almost inclined to hold my water until after the draft to get our vet wide receiver. I could be wrong but we may just find better options after the second wave of cuts. These pickings are pretty meh.

But I did pay attention to who got what right.

Keim nailed most of what he reported -- including what position they were chasing what day, and some but not all of the targets. What he got wrong, he didn't think they'd be in on Linderbaum but he did pivot back and did say they were in right before FA start. Other thing wrong about: RB-- Walker-Dowdle.

Standig -- went against Keim on the idea that they'd chase a TE. Standig wrong on it. I think wrong on the specific players he uniquely said they were interested in. Allegeir (he said after he was signed elsewhere he learned they weren't in on him), Thorton (if they were interested obviously they didn't land him. And the pass rusher from the Falcons. He was right though that they didn't chase Walker.

Neither one perfect. And like I said about Standig, I loved that he took some shots at it. He had a good run from what I recall during the Jay regime as to gossip.

Yeah I wanted Jennings well before he came the last of the Mohicans in this crop. Keim referended him in the past wanting a big payday so implied that's likely the holdup in general for whomever signs him.

Like with Deebo, he's cool at the right price but like we saw last year he cannot carry an offense without a downfield, CB-beating threat, and all we have for that is still 31 yo Terry.

Well, the good news with AP is we can at least tell what he is thinking for the most part. I think with DeJean, they thought they just had too many holes to fill. I don’t think they considered the talent gap enough.

The most important characteristic of any player is supposed to be having availability. Brown has to be out of any plans, I feel at this point. Too unreliable.

I think adding Chig just keeps Sinnot in the same role he had last year - he’s playing mainly to block and catch the occasional pass as a check down or off schedule on a scramble drill. He was not any part of the passing game and I don’t think that changes under a new coordinator.

If he’s going to get more looks as part of an actual progression he has to earn them in practice and preseason and it’s not looked like happening.

Yes, MartinC it could work out the other way. I was thinking maybe a youthful type of TE would be good maybe they can work Sinnott in formation packages where he is the only TE on the field at times too. Maybe they could get some kind of draft pick for Sinnott too as another team might be willing to cough up a 6th or 7th for him since he can be had on the cheap.

We "planned" to try and get Pierce, and then "planned" to try and get Doubs, and we're onto at least Plan C.

Noah Brown gotta be plan E or F at the earliest but dude can probably be had for vet minimum. If he's healthy even for like 6 games, might be worth it if literally the only WR we can land ends up being Aiyuk.

Hopefully they can coordinate their injuries to happen at opposite times of the season.

It could not have been a very restrictive cash budget. Took a huge swing on Pierce and had the top offer. Were aggressively in on Hendrickson AFTER signing Oweh. Have spent a ton of money.

I think this approach has been better for us, as long as we get a WR, RB, and some depth. We had so many holes going in, and I think another $30 million dollar contract would have meant less of these other signings. This feels like we got a ton of Luvu level signings, younger players, speed, length, position of need. Almost the entire defense feels remade. I still worry about FS and CB on D. Obviously, WR, RB, but also IOL on offense.

Also, Paul is still available yes?

I think draft wise we may be looking at 71 as a spot to land a quality receiver if we get Love (big if at this point).

I really think Elijah Sarratt can be very Garçon-like.

But we still need more weapons because we can’t operate on the hope someone is there. We have to add quality pass catchers. And hope isn’t a plan.

Based on how hard we swung, the FO seems to know this. So, I think we will continue to try.

I don’t even know if I’d want Noah for WR5 at this point. I’m tempted to say yes, but he’s just never available.

Schemes that care more about running, that emphasize formation variety in rushing as well (including feints) I think can more regularly include 2 TEs who are both valid targets. This is part of what I an talking about. Our WRs were decimated and it just didn’t seem we pivoted as much to focusing on heavy utilization of our healthy position groups.

So I think we will truly find out this year a lot more about our TEs. Maybe it will be unsurprising though.

Don’t rule out a WR trade. Not just for BJT, but perhaps there are other decent targets available. Given this is a deeper WR draft, maybe teams are willing to shed payroll or swap for a player like Payne.

Too much we don’t know. He didn’t impress with his opportunities but we don’t know the calls. We can better judge him with someone else at the helm I think, the likelihoods become clearer.

The Vikings should sell off Justin Jefferson. They’ve already gutted the team and their best QB option looks like Kyler Murray. Can’t believe they gave up Sam Darnold for this shit show.
