Official Skins/Steelers Game Day Thread

Nice coverage on that pass play.

Looked like that could have been a long drive. Good play by the D and I agree w/ Mike and Joey T, Reed Doughty looked good on that drive. Nice to know we have some depth in the secondary.

Quiet bunch....

If Orakpo doubled and tripled then others open. Glad to see him still out there

I'm getting a little depressed watching this. Orakpo continues to look good but man the offense, under both QBs, hasn't impressed too much. I appreciate the first drive of the game but can't help but think they didn't really "deserve" it given the fake punt.

I'm not. Why IS he still out there? Doesn't make a lot of sense... he's going to be valuable come the regular season - I'd have him sitting by now...

I'm going to be writing about 3rd downs this week. Haven't looked at the numbers yet, but we've gotten killed on 3rd downs, both sides. As always. Just kills a team.

I was just thinking the same thing. I have to say, Orakpo looks GOOOOOD!!!

By the looks of it, he's going to be on the field all game long this season :)

Hell. He may make the Pro Bowl.

I think it is good for him to see the double and triple team NOW, instead of meeting it for the first time in the season.

Given his relative inexperience at LB I think you need to keep Orakpo on the field a little more than you probably would if he were only lining up at DE....and its only the 2nd quarter. Agreed though that there is a element of, maybe unnecessary, risk having out there at this stage of the game.

Interesting commentary on Sweed BTW. There were many that suggested that he should have been drafted instead of Kelly/Thomas/Davis. Developmentally he seems to be in the same place as those three.

OM, regarding you assertion about 3rd downs, I agree. I am not gonna touch on the offense, but the D does seem to allow long third down conversions. We have seen this a lot over the past several years.

Do you think it is something in the defensive scheme or more in execution? I know execution is always a factor, but in this containing style of D, is there an element to it that allows these long third down conversions to occur?
