Keeps players fresh but the bigger part of it for me is the D shouldn't fall apart when players get hurt. They wanted to build depth, they are doing it.

Stats wise -- he's as impressive if not more as their big ballyhooed FA signing for D line last year -- D Wise. And lol, now D. Wise is a rotational backup and is Omenihu. That's a major shift for this defense.

This defense shouldn't suck now. Too much talent for that. At should be at least average

Omenohiu had a 58.8 PFF pass rush grade in 2025 (90th of 115), following a 54.2 in 2024. Better in 2022-23, so maybe they're hoping to recapture his, um, glory days.

He did rack up a 75.0 run defense grade for 2025 (14th of 115), so this makes much more sense if viewing him as a run stopping DE.

Playing next to Chris Jones will do that. He was most likely pulling a lot of the blocking for Jones to feast. Might have the same roll here. I need to go watch some more tape I guess.

He's a big body who with massive arms who seems to specialize in stopping the run. If want to highlight this via PFF purely to sum up the player. This team highlighted D. Wise as this awesome run stopper but judging it purely by PFF, he was meh, 54.8. And had 5 sacks. Omenohiu also had 5 sacks but with a 75 PFF score against the run.
