3.5 hours until JD gets Aiyuk to throw to. Maybe the plan all along was to go with Aiyuk and a rookie WR? Still have a couple of other young guys in that room as well with McCaffrey and Lane. Probably need one more vet in that room too.

Glad that the Ravens got him. He's on the list of most likely to regress this season, for sure.

Most likely to regress back to his mean production (meaning back towards being an elite sack producer)? I agree. Core muscle injury after a holdout is no joke, he wasn’t healthy. He will rack up sacks again, he’s not that old and edges can age well.

I’m fine with not overpaying for him, but he’s not some overrated name. He’s a player, just not as well-rounded as Crosby.

Keenan Allen as the #3 or #4 doesn't sound like a bad backup plan. He had 70 catches last year.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but do we have confirmation that they're releasing him today?

Today is the first day of the new league year. Can't they designate him starting today?

I guess Lynch can try and drag this out for a week or two by demanding a #7 pick or something but he's crazy if he thinks anyone is taking on the contract.

Yeah, but these older players didn't win their Super Bowls with us so I don't see why we would have a sentimental attachment to them.

These guys came here in their twilight years to have one more taste from the feasting table before they retire.

That's fine.

But these guys are not like Sonny Jurgensen or Sean Taylor to us.

Their relationship here is transactional.
Yea but we did go from worst to a quarter and a half away from the SB with them playing a major role which is by far the best we've done since our SB 35 years ago so I get it. That season had the DMV of cloud 9 like a magic carpet ride.

I also think it's because they are older and accomplished so it feels like we are ending their careers almost as they try to hold on. I don't think it would be much sentimental value with nearly any of the other guys from that roster outside of Jayden and Terry who the fans also kinda turned on last season

Actually most fans were the ones pressuring Peters to give McLaurin the $34M as I recall it

Yea but I meant after the injury. People hated him but I think that it was mostly frustration from going from the nfcc back to the bottom

Outside of the top 6-8 guys a lot of kickers are hit or miss from season to season.

A guy comes in off the street that was in say Chicago and goes to Miami and then all of a sudden becomes a stud making every field goal.

Kickers are like golfers, in any one tournament you aren't going to know with most of them how they are going to play.

If we get Chig (or Njoku tho I'd be less enthusiastic)/Jennings, FA on the whole (defense included) becomes a solid B+/A-

If we get Jennings/Aiyuk, I'd say B and we gotta hope Sinnott takes a BIG step.

If we get Aiyuk/Chig (or Njoku) it's a B

If we get only Aiyuk it's a C, held up entirely by landing really good defensive guys.

Wow, $21M in 2027. He was a costly mistake for SF.

They should have traded him to Washington last year.
