The 2026 Free Agency Thread

I know some guys here are down on our front office. I recognize that even if I don't agree with it.

However, our front office has not traded assets away to bring back a player that we originally drafted who wasn't on the team anymore because we let him go.

Think on that for a hot minute.

Unless that knee is just absolutely horrific shape (which has not been reported), some team will swoop in and make a trade. The Raiders have leverage. With the players they are signing, they could just get more aggressive on the signing bonuses and lower the base salaries in year 1

They have less leverage now they had when they did the deal with the Ravens. And the meniscus surgery was hardly a secret, the Ravens knew he’d had that and would not be fully fit for several weeks. This stinks - really poor on the part of the Ravens. The League should investigate really but probably not much they can do.

I meant leverage as in they don't have to fire sale him. If you are them, you are keeping him unless you are getting at least 1st round pick back and gambling his knee will be fine

Indeed, he produced only a 61.9 PFF pass-rushing grade throughout the 2025 season, and his 11.5% pass-rush win rate was in the 53rd percentile. Perhaps more alarming is his 62.0 pass-rush grade on true pass sets, which sat in the 45th percentile at the position.
 
A proposal to prevent a lot of this nuttiness… instead of having a “legal tampering” period… which… don’t get me started on that nomenclature…

This is a wild idea - so bear with me.

Move the league start to Monday at 9 am of the same week.

I know. I’m living on the edge here.
 
Man, if I'm the Raiders I'm pissed. Ravens definitely playing games. If they sign Hendrickson tomorrow I would be filing a grievance with the league. A lot of dominos have fallen since that trade and now the Ravens just wanna set the first domino back up like nothing happened.

No way they pay Lindenbaum top LT money if they didn't need to make that cap minimum. And they could probably still have won the bidding war for him, just at like, 6-7M less.

Oh for sure. I’m not just giving him away and I’d want at least something close to what the Ravens offered - I’m just not sure who else has the need/drafts picks and now cap space when big money has already been thrown around.

I shouldn’t have brought it up in this thread, I just don’t want to start making excuses on the first day of free agency.

When Terry went down last year we really didn't have a veteran outside receiver that could run the 15-20 yard outs and intermediates that he did.

At this point of his career Deebo can still be effective but he is more like a glorified tight end/possession receiver who operates in that 5-15 yard area.

Fair enough.

I think Terry and Luke getting hurt made our WR situation look worse than it really was, but I do agree we need to bring in somebody.

Deebo had 70 catches last year, and he was a model citizen, so his unpopularity is a complete mystery to me. I hope he comes back.

There are some other big names out there, but maybe they’re too old?

Apparently the Cowboys doctor (a knee specialist) was one of the doctors whom the Ravens had review Crosbys knee and decided it was not good. That should mean Dallas will also not be interested in Maxx.
